Castlereagh are probably what most people would regard as a fairly ‘niche’ kind of group. Falling headlong down that enchanting gap between the folkier end of the indie spectrum and the indier end of the folky spectrum, they have managed to land themselves in a peculiar musical universe where its OK to sing about Roman Emperors, randy priests and long-forgotten riots. James’ cracked and somewhat unpredictable vocals are shored up by the rather more dulcet tones of Tom and Sam, whilst rampant and shameless instrument swapping abounds. Tom and Sam are perhaps better known as one half of storming English folk quartet Kerfuffle, but their association with James is a long-standing one and has previously brought to a select few the delights of "Storyville" and "White Collar Army." The fruits of this latest and radically different collaboration are here thrust into the outside world in the hope that they will meet with the approval of a casual observer such as yourself.

The violin unleash in the second verse is actually just the glock introduction. But yes... there are definitely hints of it! The extracts were actually quite pleasant in that paper.
Many apologies for the shameless self promotion, but here goes anyway.
I have another song up on my site, www.myspace.com/pmblackburnmusic, and would be very grateful for your comments on this and all of my others.
I also have a couple of new gigs lined up with some brilliant bands, and an interesting venue, so take a look inside!
Last night was amazing!
Especially Little Boots...and Diplomats Daughter...and the one about the girl who sleeps with the priest (but to name a few).
