The album features 10 songs and was recorded at Electric Plant Studios in Brooklyn and released in July of 2008. 'Awakening of the Beast' will be remastered and re-released some time after we release our 3rd album 'iHuman' which we are now working on with producer/lead guitarist James Murphy at SafeHouse Production in Florida.

Castrofate began when “Riffmeister Dan” Castro (vocalist/guitarist) released the debut album 'Awakening of the Beast' in April of 2007.
The style of Castrofate is derived from the influence of old school heavy metal like Metallica, Pantera, Death, Slayer, Testament, Black Sabbath, and Iron Maiden. With the release of their debut album under their belt, some well-received radio play, and some intense live performances including opening for Testament, Raven, M.O.D., Cities, Ross The Boss, and Incantation, Castrofate released the follow-up to 'Awakening of the Beast'.
'Cataclysmic Insanity' was released in July of 2008. Recorded, mixed, and mastered by Vin Cin at Electric Plant Sound Studios in Brooklyn, Castrofate's sophomore album is a huge step up from its predecessor 'Awakening..', with writing and sound quality crashing through the roof. The band's first tour outside the US was a huge success, headlining a string of dates in major cities around Ecuador with hundreds of metal fans coming out to each show. The band returned and performed on the Project Independent showcase at Dingbatz in Clifton NJ, and were chosen for the next round of online voting. Recently the band shared the stage with Master & Estuary in Allentown, PA, as well as a Rotten Records showcase at NYC's Sullivan Hall in October, played alongside Ill Nino, Otep, and Walls of Jericho in November, and made NYC and Brooklyn NY appearances in December. Castrofate have returned from a very successful European Tour alongside Master in February 2009, performing 18 shows in 24 days in Germany, Holland, Belgium, Poland, England, Scotland, and the Czech Republic. Upon return to the states Castrofate performed with Destruction and Krisiun in March.
August 2009 saw Castrofate conduct a U.S. tour which included performances in Virginia, Oregon, Texas, Pennsylvania, New York, and California. Preparations are now underway to begin recording the 3rd album consisting of 10 new songs, 3 of which were performed live on the US Tour.
