Criminal Records aims to be a vertically integrated enterprise, with a fresh alternative outlook to the way a record label currently functions in the music industry.
The fundamental difference will be the relationship between the label and the artists. Being in a band is a relationship that calls for an emotional connectedness that rivals marriage. However the relationship between bands to their labels in the current industry is more like a stereotypical stepson, stepfather relationship. This is an unhealthy way to view the creation of music. Criminal Records will sign less artists, spend more attention on them, get to know the people in the bands on a personal level and build real human relationships outside of the business perspective. The bands are not the employees of Criminal Records nor vice versa. Both parties will work together to achieve the desired goal, creating the best music possible, and getting to the most people possible for “criminal prices.” (you will be pleased to find out what “criminal prices” are)
