I have to confess that I love showtunes. Especially, Wicked, Les Miz, Pippin and Rent! And one cannot forget the greatness that is crimping!
Movies
I love mostly all movies. Top film of all time is the LotRs trilogy. Other films I like are: Shakespeare in Love, Elizabeth (Cate should have won the Oscar, sorry Gwyneth), any film with Katherine or Audrey Hepburn, James Bond flicks, films with effects by Ray Harryhausen, other films by Peter Jackson, the Thin Man series, Dawn of the Dead (have to love Helicopter Zombie!), Monty Python films, any film made by Alfred Hitchcock, Enchanted April, film with Hepburn/Tracy, The Princess Bride,In Bruges, any movie with Cary Grant or Jimmy Stewart, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, films by Terry Gilliam (especially Monty Python stuff, The Adventures of Baron Munchausen and Time Bandits), Finding Neverland, The Philadelphia Story, A Knight's Tale (mostly for Paul Bettany), Some Like It Hot, Sense and Sensibility, anything with Alan Rickman (dreamy!--and I don't know why), The Lion in Winter, It Happend One Night, Once, Desk Set, Henry V, any film with Simon Pegg (especially ones that he co-writes), musicals with Gene Kelly (especially Singin' in the Rain and Brigadoon), The Wizard of Oz, The Court Jester, Ratatouille, The Dark Crystal, The Neverending Story, Fight Club, Robin and Marion, the Bourne trilogy, any film with Christian Bale (especially Little Women and Batman Begins), Lola rennt, Little Voice, Love Actually (most things written by Richard Curtis), Memento (well really any film by Christopher Nolan), Pan's Labyrinth, Amelie, Aliens and so many others that I cannot think of at the moment. My favorite book of all time is War for the Oaks by Emma Bull. I also like The Hobbit and LotR. Mostly anything fantasy. Growing up I loved reading the Ordinary Princess and stories about Oz. The like The Cat Who... series. I do enjoy reading Shakespeare--I think he wrote for dyslexics. Speaking of dyslexia, I love Susan's Story. The book is by the actress Susan Hampshire, who deals with dyslexia. It was very empowering and motivating. Books by Madeleine L'Engle and Karen Cushman. Anything by Emma Bull, the Book of Three series by Lloyd Alexander and my all time fav author Jane Austen. The Chronicles of Narnia and The Lyonesse Trilogy by Jack Vance. I also like histories written by Alison Weir. As well as books by Ellis Peters.
About me: Hello, I'm Cate. Nice to meet you. Now that we got the pleasantries out of the way, this is my page. I am someone who enjoys dressing in garb and spending time in the Middle Ages. I also love reading and watching movies. I am a movie nut! I enjoy history and more importantly—living in it! I was going to Daemen College for physical therapy, but right now I’m on medical leave. I have a condition called ankylosing spondylitis. So this page is a nice way to stay in contact with friends and family. But, most importantly, I’m here to enjoy good times with my friends from the Jade Pipkin Inne!
