Thanks for visiting Cate's Myspace and checking out the tunes and vids! Cate is currently an accountant by day and singer/songwriter by night. In other words, she crunches numbers when the sun comes out so that she can live out her dream by moonlight. She was classically trained on the piano from the tender age of 5. Though she loves to rock some Mozart and Bach on the piano, she began to be intrigued and inspired by modern musicians such as New Kids On the Block and Boyz II Men during elementary school. Dancing was her passion but she had two left feet, so she stuck with the piano and sung once in awhile, but usually only when she was alone. In 1992, when Mariah Carey released her hit single "Hero," Cate's love affair with singing officially began. From 1992 - 1998 she was glued to the radio and tape deck (remember those??). She tape-recorded songs from the radio and played them over and over again, teaching herself to copy the vocal styles of Mariah, Whitney and others. In high school and college, Cate developed her piano and vocal skills in church and various music groups/bands. Cate eventually began to write her own songs, born out of personal experiences of light and shadow. Over the span of 2003-2007, Cate wrote a bunch of tunes, 8 of which made it onto her first album, "Images" (released on December 7, 2008 & available on iTunes and Cdbaby.com!). Cate connects best with songs that are personal, introspective and lyrical. Songwriting and singing are her main avenues for expression and she mostly does it to help her get through every day. She especially enjoys songs such as "Womanizer" and "I Kissed A Girl" and tries to write songs that impact people like these classics have. If you've gotten this far in reading this novel, then you have the privilege of knowing that the last sentence was a complete farse, but it was fun to write anyways. =) Anyways, thanks so much for reading and if you like what you hear, please do Cate a favor and spread the word to your friends. i live in Rockford which is like an hour and a half from Chicago... ...yup..i am a musician...hahaha, this is my music page ;) so i play guitar...some piano...drums..bass... but guitar and vocals are my main instrument :] ...never heard of Koo Chung...maybe i'll meet him someday!
