Hello there. My name is Xenia. I play the Ukulele. I also sometimes play a saw. I sometimes play on my own. Sometimes I like to play with a varying number and combination of musicians I know, including those ambiguously listed to the left. Since January 2009 Mr Joe Urwin has been laying on a fat low C tuned guitar that wraps up the ukulele like a warm quilt.
Here's what some tool wrote...
"Hailing from Bristol, Cat Green Bike's minimal micro-epic ukelele sub-balladry brims with the wry witticisms of a closet English Eccentric. Gingerly plucked melodic lines that nod as far east as Canterbury with prog-rock spines are interwoven with a satiric, dryly humoured vocal counterpoint in hushed home-counties tones.
Cat Green Bike will laugh at the slugs she pours salt on."
CDs & Vinyl
Cat Green Bike has made various incarnations of a CD, the latest of which is Breakbeat/Thrash/Concrete, which made its first apperance on the 28th of February at Ukelear Meltdown in Newcastle. It is the usual Radiohead style pay what you like job.
You can get your copy by going to http://catgreenbike.blogspot.com/ and clicking on the "EPs & Albums" link on the top right.
There will hopefully be a vinyl released next year if anyone gets any money, probably a 10".
Mr Glover from Epic45 will be producing it, so it should sound lovely. I'll also be working with Rob on some The Toy Library things in the near future. Mmmmmm....
The vinyl will be put out by the lovely people at Urban & Eastern who are also responsible for Ukelear Meltdown which takes place every February at the simply sublime Star & Shadow Cinema in Newcastle.

Hi There. I genuinely loved what I heard over the phone as it were. The 3 peaks were really good fun, gonna have to think of another one to do next year now.
Hello, must say lovely music. No, I don't think I know you, though I see Epic45 know you. I used to live in the area, now I'm more Shropshire based though I'm thinking of moving.
Tascams are great, although I find it annoying they do not record 2 tracks or in stereo, makes a lot of tracks mono, but reverb sorts that out!
I'm going to Bishops Castle Carnival all over you at the Cube. Could get messy. I'm demanding a tea pot when I go on stage, I want to drink tea whilst I play.
By the way, I'm going to have another tinkle with "Crafty" then bung it your way. I want you to imagine you are 5 years old and you can create an entire world using paper, glue, scissors and sticky tape.
Hi Xenia, Thanks you for your talent, and I wanted to tell your fans you are in this month's No.9, No. 9 listing...it is a monthly recommendations site....just 9 artists who are a cut above or sideways or just wonderfully unique...It is found in my blog...So chek it out.... Hey Xenia, well done on an amazing set at the meltdown! I've been enjoying your CD. Sorry I didn't get much of a chance to say hi. Hopefully our paths will cross again at some point. I'm moving down south in August and will most likely be seeking out new ukulele adventures! All the best, Mark
