Sounds Like
Mr. Blue
"Feeny has made an album that any fan of Beth Orton, Lucinda Williams, Joni Mitchell and early Sheryl Crow will be happy to place on the same shelf. Her song mr Blue, all spectral piano, funereal brass and solicitous lyrics....should soon be unavoidable on radio. Hurricane Glass is one of those albums that soothes the listener into quietude with strummed guitar and mellifluous vocal lines - and only then coils its complications and ambiguities around you. "I won't bury you in the basement/As i've been know to do" soars over the sweetest of backings. You miss it first time; only later do you think: "What did she just say?".

"I was born, third of three, to the Feeny's of Mt. Airy, Pennsylvania. Both of my parents grew up in big Irish Catholic families in Philadlephia boroughs.
"My mother was an english teacher; she inspired in me an unnatural affinity for melancholy and fiction. My father worked with his hands, painting, carpentering, fixing, and teaching me to ride my bike in the morning before school. They married a few years after my dad came back from Vietnam.
"We had a big yard. I climbed trees and drew pictures and went to school. I hung around with kids in the neighborhood. At some point, I borrowed an Ibanez electric from my uncle Michael.
"I took guitar lessons at the local music store. I learned songs by Led Zeppelin and The Cure. When I saw Sinead O'Connor's on tv, I returned the electric guitar to its rightful owner and started to play my dad's acoustic."
"I don't know why I spend my time Writing songs I can't believe With words that tear and strain to rhyme" -P. Simon, "Kathy's Song," 1965
Just wanted to stop by and say thanks and to let you know we posted the
final mixes for "The Nickajack EP (Part One)" today. We'd love it if
you stopped in for a listen and let us know what you think.
Please come back to the Netherlands if you have the chance. You really blew me away with your songs last year with the Hotel Cafe tour. Addicted to your albums ever since!
Many blessings to that which is within me It’s a win-win as far as I can see The choices are made by what I may be. Determined at last sitting under that tree.
So it would appear independently I move And yet I am a plant of thy making to prove The connected nature of everything the all Which is why in this moment I listen to your call.
There in the breath you whisper I listen And as my thoughts flow rising above to glisten The sparks of return they are singing their song This truth of your purpose is there all along
So remember each day all I have told you Forgiven your mistakes all I have made new And watched you as a child grow so strong There to guide your hand always all along.
So be with me now in this moment pure For every step you take from now on will be sure.
Your music is so absolutely wonderful and inspiring. I listen to you just about every day since I can always find a song to suit my mood. Keep up the fantastic work and I so look forward to your future albums
"The Hand are Bristol-based musicians Rachael Dadd & Wig Smith. Together they share a love of folk, blues and world music and play an exotic array of instruments including Kora, Banjo, Ukulele, and Harmonium. They are touring the UK with Japanese solo artist Ichi, who takes the notion of a one-man band to new limits – combining steel drum with ping-pong balls, tape-loops, trumpet and xylophone.
Support comes from Norwich-based musicians Sam James Hill and Tenderlion plus Buffet Style DJ's playing music from the psyche's deli..."
