Dark and melodic prog from the home of all things slow and heavy. Cathis Ord combines elements of Doom, depressive rock and acoustic passages centered around mythical landscapes and epic songs. The first demo has just been released as a free-download and, also, soon as a short-run CD, complete with artwork. Please find the downloads here:

Yes, thank you very much, we got them a couple of days ago, and yes, you did send us one each, although I have a funny feeling my copy's going to end up being sent to another magazine that can review it and get the name and awesome sound of Cathis Ord out to the masses :)
Did you see your review by William Pinfold in Zero Tolerance yet?
This two track demo by solo project Cathis Ord is something a bit special. Hard to pigeonhole, the epic songs here have elements of rock, doom and folk; not massively heavy apart from the harsh, raw vocals, the songs are long, catchy and technically excellent, like a lighter-toned Opeth or a mellowed-out Mithras, full of fluid, atmospheric lead guitar over mid-paced rocky riffs. The songs are based around a central concept concerning an imaginary wilderness and its sole inhabitant, but even if such things are not for you, give this a go, it's an idiosyncratic gem. WP5
Glad you liked my CD.....I was a real metal head in my youth so I can appreciate what you are doing and wish you all the best with it and I'll be watching this space closely!

CATHIS ORD 'Cathis Ord' The fact that more than a few Opeth fans have been raving about British 'dark prog' newcomers Cathis Ord should tell you exactly where this sprawling concept piece will find its home once fully realised. Until that day comes, this two-track, 22-minute ditty will leave plenty to think about. (7)
You do realise how good the demo is right? I posted a link to your site in one of the black metal forums I frequent on here, and believe me they are hard to please, and everyone thought it was excellent. I would be extremely grateful for a copy of the demo. Do you have Paypal? I'd more than happily pay for it.
My husband whored you in the metal forums yesterday and a lot of people that checked you out said you were the best "thing" they'd heard all year. Hopefully a string of new friends and fans is in the offing...?
