I spent 10 years (many of which were crazy stressful) as a newspaper reporter. About 8 years into the job, this is how I began to feel:
Sooooo, I decided to give up the job and move back to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area to work for the Catholic Church. I love being Catholic and hope to finish the rest of my career serving the Church.
The Office and 24 are my favorite shows. I have a huge celebrity crush on Kiefer Sutherland and Steve Carell, and I root for NOTRE DAME (but I'm on a hiatus from the Irish until they start acting like they're a Catholic college), Jeff Gordon (the best NASCAR has ever seen), the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Pioneers and the 49ers.
I dislike: Dissident Catholic behavior, especially from those responsible for teaching the faith. I dislike attempts to water down this great Catholic faith. There are plenty of so-called Catholics pretty much everywhere, including in Congress, who try to do this. Hint, hint Mrs. House Speaker. I despise abortion. It is murder plain and simple. The word "pro-choice" is a sham. What are you choosing to support? That's right, the deaths of millions of babies. Since Roe v. Wade in 1973, 50 million babies have died! It's a disgrace.
"Just Say No" to relativism. It's bad for the soul. That's coming from someone who, unfortunately, has been there, but it's a lifestyle to which I'll never return. Sadly, relativism runs rampant today.
So, what's relativism? Pope Benedict XVI explains it: "We are moving toward a dictatorship of relativism which does not recognize anything as for certain and which has as its highest goal one's own ego and one's own desires."

The Office, 24, anything on EWTN, Father Corapi, watching Notre Dame football/basketball and NASCAR, The X-Files, Ghost Hunters/Ghost Hunters International - I like that they try to debunk "hauntings", and I'm glad we're seeing more of Barry Fitzgerald.

The Perfect Joy of St. Francis, Deus Caritas Est (God is Love) encyclical by Pope Bendict XVI, The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis, The Confessions of St. Augustine ... several others. I don't read much fiction. Most of it, especially these days, I find to be crap on paper. But, I do like Shakespeare. I'm also a big fan of Jonathan Swift and Alexander Pope.
