Quantcast The Cathryn Beeks Ordeal is groove laden acoustic folk rock that takes you on a musical road trip. Combining a little bit of every genre, the music's catchy hooks and heavy harmonies stay with you long after the party is over. The group consists of Cathryn Beeks and long time writing partner, Matt Silvia on guitar/vox, plus a revolving cast of some of the most talented characters you'll ever hear.

The San Diego Reader had this to say about the new album: "Desert Music is a great album. It's tight and professional. The album has a cohesive motif without all the songs being too similar. Beeks's voice is a mixture of Bonnie Raitt and Jewel, whose music can also be compared to Beeks's. Some of the songs lean toward acoustic and folky; others use more electric guitar and pedal steel to drive home a rockin' country sound. The first three songs explore the topics of traveling, aging, and becoming successful. "Drive America" is a good road-trip song. "Special Words" and "Good to Be" are uplifting, inspirational tunes without being schmaltzy or saccharine. "Special Words" features hand-clapping and a chorus of voices lifting to a sentimental tone without being overdone."

Hi, Cathryn,
Dang, it's been a while.
I love "You Know."
That song does it for me.
Harmonies are awesome.
And "Nothin' But Happy" is a kick!
And had nothin' to do with Ron.
I've posted a couple of new ones on my page.
Give 'em a listen and let me know what you think.
Thanks,
Paul
