I'm an actress, comic and writer. I'm one of the stars, producers and co-author (along with the wonderfully talented Wendi McLendon Covey and the brilliantly funny W. Bruce Cameron) of the feature film "Cook Off!" which was adapted from my book "The Grrl Genius Guide to Life" and is premiering at this year's HBO Aspen Comedy Festival(starring more amazingly funny people than you can shake ten sticks at.)
I was also the star of AMC's series "Grrl Genius at the Movies" (cancelled, though it was the highest rated show they'd ever had in that time slot.) I'm the author of "The Grrl Genius Guide to Sex (With Other People)" and the "Adventures of a Grrl Genius Blog" on iVillage.com. You can see me in comedy clubs across the country, and in the live stage show versions of two books I'm featured in, "Fired!: Tales of The Canned, Canceled, Downsized, and Dismissed" and "I Killed!: True Stories of the Road from America's Top Comics." I'm a regular guest on NBC's "The Today Show" where I give my perspectives on men, women and relationships and try not to flirt too much with David Gregory.
I live in Los Angeles, CA with my boyfriend "8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter" author W. Bruce Cameron, who also goes on TV a lot and flirts (too much) with Oprah Winfrey and Diane Sawyer.
Who I'd like to meet: All the great Grrl Geniuses of history: Catherine Littlefield Green, from whom Eli Whitney stole the cotton gin, Nanerl Mozart, the sister that Wolfgang proclaimed "the talented one," Naval officer Grace Hopper who invented the first computer "compiler" in the 1950's, thus streamlining computer programming for all time (she almost never gets credit for this, but as a Navy Rear Admiral I'm willing to bet she got plenty of hilarious jokes about her ass,) Madame Curie, Sophie Tucker, Fannie Brice, Ida Lupino, Katherine Hepburn, Eleanor Roosevelt and Frida Kahlo (though I can't promise I wouldn't at least SUGGEST waxing.)
As you may or may not know, I turned twenty-five the other day. Instead of gifts this year, I'm asking everyone to join my Email List on www. jjhebert. net. Unconventional, my newest novel, will be published by Mindstir Media later this year, and joining the Email List will ensure that you receive updates regarding my book release, contests, giveaways, and more.
