GeneralReading, writing, movies, food, wine ....all the usual stuff
MusicEclectic - generally rely on friends to say things like "Listen to this, it's good" to introduce me to new stuff.

Liking Radio Tarifa and Tartit quite a lot at the moment - and I found them for myself too. Love Mediaeval Baebes. Have fallen in love with Leonard Cohen all over again.
MoviesAlso Eclectic

Last Films seen The new Star Trek - ripping good yarn with excellent casting - let's have a new TV series! Cheri - opulant, big budget costume drama based on a very slight story really. Pretty, poignant but fairly pointless. However, the leading man was cute in that sort of dark, wasted, celtic way - with cheekbones you could slice bread with and the film did provide a leading role for an older woman - so hooray! (Although the idea that a leading courtesan of that era could be so flat chested and skinny is pushing the envelope a bit).

Favourite films of all time - Bladerunner, Kind Hearts and Coronets, Excalibur, Fargo, State and Main.
TelevisionI have more or less given up watching tv on a regular basis lately but I like anything that makes me laugh. I really miss Black Books and Drop the Dead Donkey.

I HATE Big Brother and all it's evil clones.
BooksI'll read the back of a cornflake packet if there's nothing else to hand. My house is full of books. I can't stop buying books. Please help me. Generally Sci-Fi, Detectives, History (particularly but not exclusively Roman/Roman Britain), Biographies, Chick Lit (and whatever the equivalent is called when it's written by a man - Prick Lit?). Current favourites Lindsey Davis and John O'Farrell and Tom Holt. Oh yes - and anything by Bill Bryson. And I've just started reading Pauline McLynn's Dublin set detective stories - liking those a lot. And Chaucer - always been a big fan of Chaucer. Rosemary Sutcliff was quite a formative influence too and periodically re-read.
HeroesRobin Hood, Alexander the Great, Boudicca and My Mum

About me:
....Grumpy Old Woman with a wide range of interests - excluding sport (apart from Sumo Wrestling - which only requires me to pay attention to it for about 30 seconds at a time).

I don't do walking - I do taxis. I don't do camping - I do hotels. I don't do ready meals - I do cooking.

I am not quite such a miserable git as the above implies. I work in the Voluntary and Community Sector - and I am quite nice to quite a lot of people on a fairly regular basis.

I also work as a freelance consultant and do the odd gig as a stand up comic - which, frankly is a lot more fun - but a good deal less lucrative. But as my mother always used to say "You can't have it all roads".

Oh dear!
Get well soon.
And yes, Flash does my head in too.
I think it was invented with the sole purpose of driving people nuts!

You're stuck aren't you?
Here is someone elses GIF animation that I imported into Flash and added some music to.
Loop the animation, one keyframe to trigger the music at the beginning and Bob's your uncle :)

Truly amazing! Their is nothing more I can teach you! To misquote Darth Vader, "Once upon a time you were but the pupil. Now you are the master."
You may now say to me with impunity, "Your powers are weak old man" ;¬)
You'll be making Flash movies soon at this rate!!! Yes. There are free simplified Flash editors out there that you can use. Save your pennies. I've got Flash MX 2004 Pro and I don't understand 90% of it. You can get the usefull 10% for nowt if you poke around. God I never stop challenging you do I? Mind you, you've not failed a single challenge yet!!!

Excellent! See that worm go! Tiny 36kb file size too. You could have afforded to make it a bit bigger and it would still load quickly.
I can't resist irritating you with another suggestion though:
The next step might be a scrolling background.
It's a pretty laborious process but it looks great. I followed this tutorial and ended up with this...

Note how Santa wobbles because he's deliberately not lined up the same in every frame :)
I have no doubt you'll be knocking these out by next week. You're very quick on the uptake with this animation lark. It took me about four years to get this far!

Yo.. That's great! Did you do that?
Thistle Doo: Hahaha! That would be in Scotland I take it?

Just viewed your frames in Animation Shop and I can see where you accidentaly (?) moved a few of the images off centre. It's a good effect for some things and not so good for others. If you want it smooth you have to extraordinarily careful to get all the frames EXACTLY the same, including where the edges are :)

You reminded me of this:

I can't remember if I did this with Winmorph or a 30 day free trial of Morpheus. Winmorph is 100% free but slightly harder to use as I recall.
Just Google for free morphing software

You are getting the hang of this animation thing aren't you?
You need to get the people upstairs to stop dancing all the time though. The lightbulb is swinging about!
