Re discovering Cat Stevens from me Dad's old records. Reminds me of holidays in wales, we all had red clogs denim outfits with iron on patches. Which then reminds me when I thought a dog was in love with me, me Dad threw his clog at it as it was clinging to me leg. I was only little but learnt a lot about Dad's knowing when the opposite sex is only after you for one thing. And here is The Knife's beautiful song Heartbeat that is a fusion of music and poetry, yet to be beaten in my book, (though do think Jose did it justice and the bouncy balls were lovely, you can't beat the original)

Television
This is a short film I wrote, directed by Paul Sapin (www.sapinxray.com) starring Neil Bell and Richard Sails. It's a about Matthew, a binman cooling off in a church and the Priest setting up for mass. God and jobs are discussed. The telling line is Matthew's- 'I can get away with a lot without my boss catching me, you can't can you?'
The team, that kindly gave their services for free are- Sam Sapin (assistant director),Laurence Coldwell (camera),Tony Coldwell (D.O.P),Dave Reynolds(editor), Andy Boag (sound), Andy Hare(art director), Becky Hodgkinson (make-up), Ben Davies (boom), Alwyn Davies (jib operator), Tony Greenwood (dubbing mixer), Dave Radcliffe and Len Holt(gaffers), Jamie Parry (colourist), Christine and Alan (St. Luke's Church), Sonia Whittle (catering), Anthony Scott and Alan O'Brien (graphics), Stuart Grant @ Granada and Steve May @ Provision. Elbow kindly supplied the soundtrack, and also wrote the incidental music. I would like to say a huge thank you to all involved. It was such a prize for a writer at my stage in the game to work with a team of such high calibre.
We are currently looking for funding for the next film- Ted's Picnic- a dark comedy about a group of friends who once a year, for the past twenty years, have gone back to the woods where their mate Teddy drove his scrambler into a tree and died. There's teddy bear outfits, there's top of the range bikes and there's a picnic they were not invited to. Finger's crossed it's made this year.
