“They are spellbinding acoustic musicians, with a rare mastery of American roots styles. Parents will be as entertained by the sublime musicianship and droll lyricism as kids are by all the musical mischief.”

GRAMMY WINNERS, Cathy Fink & Marcy Marxer are a formidable powerhouse of sound, with a repertoire of traditional and contemporary folk, old-time country and swing music. Their superb harmonies are backed by instrumental virtuosity on the acoustic and electric guitar, five-string banjo, mandolin, pennywhistle, ukuleles and many other instruments. Cathy & Marcy's family concerts have set the standard for family participation and fun while their recordings have inspired kids, parents, grandparents, teachers and friends to sing together and enjoy the magic of music.
They have been nominated for a total of THIRTEEN Grammy Awards, and won two GRAMMY Awards for BON APPETIT! MUSICAL FOOD FUN and “cELLAbration: A Tribute to Ella Jenkins”, in the Best Musical Album for Children category. In 2003, they were nominated for three Grammy awards, including their eclectic CD, “POSTCARDS” in the Best Traditional Folk Album category. Also nominated in Trad. Folk for "Live in the UK: Tom Paxton with Cathy Fink & Marcy Marxer".
2008 GRAMMY FINALIST BANJO TALKIN’ and highly acclaimed THE OLD TIME BANJO FESTIVAL re-established the duo's connections to traditional old time music.
The duo tours year round sharing their love of five-string banjo, cello banjo, tenor banjo, banjo ukulele and melody banjo. An eclectic repertoire of traditional and original songs, along with period music and their superb harmonies makes for a wonderful concert. And don't miss their amazing family shows - there's a reason these gals have 2 GRAMMY Awards!
