Cat O’Connor is piano-pop’s answer to music’s search for a new concept. Well on her way to establishing herself as a credible and well-renowned songstress, Cat has already performed at venues spanning the UK and Europe. With the unique tone of her vocal setting her apart from the sound-alikes in today’s charts, and with her music having been described as ‘unique and upbeat’, (Charlotte Bailey, Head of XTV and XMedia Online), Cat’s career is tipped for long-lasting success.
Cat describes her musical influences as not only inspirational, but integral in her musical and personal development. These include the likes of Regina Spektor, Kate Nash, Missy Higgins, KT Tunstall and the now disbanded ‘Something Corporate’.
Having graduated with a music scholarship from Exeter University, Cat was keen to involve herself in the live music scene during her time there. Consequently, a solid fan-base was built up in and around Exeter and before long, Cat was gigging nation-wide. With an ever-increasing fan-base and time on her side (at just aged 20), Cat is now working closely with industry professionals to develop her song-writing and live performance skills at the ACM in Guildford.
‘Superhero (Save Yourself)’ is Cat’s exciting new development: a soon to be released 4-track EP of her latest work. Filled with grace and passion and loaded with hooks, it is a captivating Kate Nash meets Ben Folds pop-gem of a record, and the thoroughly deserving source of her enthusiasm.
"Great, unique vocal"
-Sam Brown, Singer-Songwriter, Musician & Record Producer
“Cat is a real free spirit. Her infectious enthusiasm brings her music to life and you can’t help but enjoy the process of being drawn into her world. "
-Mark Davenport, London Producer

there was a pretty little girl called cat she oozed talent - her lyrics spoke rhyme and her music spoke reason if you don't listen to her it would be treason
Gee thanks! We just kinda cobbled it together. Your video of 'Slow Dancing in a Burning Room' is absolutely beautiful, even more than when you played it live on my show, which is saying something! Lots of people have said good things about that by the way, and wanted to know more about you, which is great :D Open mic nights are always on Wednesdays and I help run them, so I can make sure you get a good slot if you ever want to come down and play, it would obviously be an honour to have you. Also we record it and play the highlights on Xpression FM the next day, which is becoming one of our most popular programmes, and it's going well, the Christmas Open Mic was packed, so it'll be a good crowd. I also know the guy who runs the acoustic nights at the Hub, so I could get you a gig there too if you like. Have you had a fantastic festive season? xxxxxx
hey cat, we're playing the 'yellow tambourine night' (a good one to get on if you haven't already played for sian) at 'the maltings' in farnham on friday (3rd) if you fancy coming along to watch and say hello. sid. brassneck.
The artwork was done by my friend Grace from uni, who is extremely talented. She does comics in her spare time but she could be a proper artist. Thanks for the kind words, it means a lot coming from a musician such as yourself, especially now that you're at ACM! If you want the EP then message me your address. I could just send you the mp3s but you'd miss out on stickers and badges, and they're way cool. x
Hey Cat! Sorry for the spam (sorta) but I'm just dropping a comment to let you know I've got some really wicked new songs up and an online shop open where you can buy my demo EP. It's wicked. As it's you though, you can have the EP and some merch for free if you message your address. Or if you'd prefer I can e-mail you the mp3s. Can't wait to play you on the show again, the new tracks are ace :D Big Love, Paddy x
