| General | Grassroots Support...making a difference
How you can help
If you would like to volunteer to help Cat get the word out, please fill out the "Get Involved!" form (left column). We need people to help with mailings, phone calls, rallies, and fund raising events. Also, if you would put a sign in your yard that would be greatly appreciated.
Cat's Council
As with any well running organization, it is staffed with hard working dedicated people who come with a sincere drive and talents to assist in the administration and advise the leadership. Cat is looking for such talent within the 7th District who know and understand what it takes to make a difference for a community—time and a genuine regard for the welfare of others. If you would like to be a part of Cat's Council, please contact Cat and let her know how you would like to help.
Cat is looking for people in areas of economics, transportation, public welfare, safety, environment, children advocacy, senior concerns, and just a strong wiliness to help.
Thank you for your support.

Let It Out!
Are there some things that just don't seem to get better, or ever go away…and you wish they would? Well here is your chance to get it off your chest and hopefully feel better. This section of the website is designed for you to speak out on those issues that bother you the most, or issues that you would like to see something being done about.
Cat would like to start out by saying that she is upset by what she has seen so far since her return last week regarding the increase in crime. She know that the new Mayor Ballard has a big job on his hands and is working to make a difference. Cat sincerely wants to see him make some sweeping changes that will put violent criminals behind bars, and keep them there.
So, if you have something, even if it's about pot holes, which seem to be mushrooming up around the city, let it out! Share your comments HERE.

Special Projects
As with any good community leader, we all have our own special projects or initiatives that we would like to see come to fruition. I too have my share of special projects that I would like to share with you. I believe Indianapolis is on the right track to being that better community that other cities want to emulate. However, there are still a few things that we, as citizens can help. It is time to spring clean, and not just our own closets. Let us all begin with our closets and think in terms of what we can afford to share with other less fortunate and give to the Salvation Army or Goodwill. And as we go through our closets and home, don't forget your garages and yards. Let us all be good caretakers of our homes and grounds. And after we have seen to our own, look around your neighborhood and see which among you are less fortunate and offer them a helping hand. Maybe it is just some paint and lawn work that makes all the difference. The difference in how a person feels about their property and about themselves. It is a feeling of prosperity from within that elevates the communities' self awareness as a neighborhood and not just a street with strangers. Be active. Take or give a helping hand, and watch the strength of a community grow.

About me:
I got my Myspace Layouts
from 123mycodes.com
I am a long-time resident on the northeast side of Indianapolis. Me and my husband Jeff have been at our home for the past 24 years. I am the owner of a small IT company, Data Dudes of Indy, LLC., which my husband operates in my absence. I also serves in the United States Army Reserve as a Lieutenant Colonel. Currently, I am finishing up a one-year tour at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, where I volunteered to serve my country as a Communications Officer for the Army Global Network Operations and Security Center. Where I am the Chief of Plans and Exercises, which is a 24 x 7 operations center defending the LandWarNet. I returned home the end of March 2008.
I am the everyday girl next door, who grew-up with strong family values and work ethics. Those same values and ethics have served me well when I made the Military a Career, and easily transition to Army Strong Values. My military career began as an enlisted private in the Indiana Army National Guard. I graduated from the Indiana Military Academy in 1987 and received my commission as a Second Lieutenant Signal Officer. I spent the next 16 years setting goals, working hard, training and achieving results, which gained me the rank I currently holds. Some of my past assignments have been as a small group leader, a commander, a brigade staff officer, an ROTC Assistant Professor of Military Science at Rose Hulman Institute of Technology, and as an instructor training company grade officers to be field grade staff officers with higher levels of responsibility. In 2003, now a Major I transferred to the Army Reserves where I continues to serve my country and community.
As a civilian, I have work in the Administrative, Sales and Marketing fields for small to medium size companies. These past working assignments have helped pave the way for my success as an entrepreneur and successful business woman. While working two jobs, I earned my degree in Business Administration from North Wood University in 1995, graduating Magna Cum Laude.
I have always advocated for a stronger voice to represent the people. Someone who can relate to the people's needs, because they're shared…someone whose only interest is making a difference for the good of the people…someone that resonates with the many, and not just a few. And mostly, someone we can trust to bring maturity, experience and leadership to bear in crucial moments of decision making when serving the best interests of our community. That candidate is me, Cat Ping. A proven leader serving my country, our community and as a business owner, I will provide a fresh perspective with new beginnings toward change. A results oriented, hard working, dedicated servant of the people and for the people that will stay the course with strength of purpose the people deserve.

Who I'd like to meet:
You....
My fellow neighbors, So let me tell you why I'm running for Congress. As a long time resident of the Warren Township community in the 7th district, I have lived, seen, and heard the many politicians that have come and gone with their various messages of prosperity they would bring, if elected. Some, I felt were more sincere; others, I felt were selling feel good legislative rhetoric to the voting constituents. Most often, however, I felt did not represent me, my needs, or my viewpoint on the various subjects. I felt disenfranchised from my elected officials without any voting power. Now, I'm running for office. Not because I grew up thinking I was going to be the greatest politician that ever lived, or that my life's ambition was to be in politics; no, I was asked to run for office by a very small handful of friends and family who believe in me. I thought long and hard before making my decision and concluded that win or lose the primary I would still be a winner either way. That is because of what my goal and intentions are behind running for office. I don't need to run for Congress to complete me or serve some lifelong ambition. I don't need the job; I own my own successful small company and I serve my country proudly as an Army Reserve Officer. And I don't have an ego that requires I belong to a higher social scale in society. I'm doing it for one reason only, because I believe.
I believe in America and my neighbors. I believe that we basically all want the same things in life. And I believe that those things haven't changed since the Constitution was written. But I also believe that those things that have been protected by the Constitution are being eroded by people and organizations that don't represent the best interests of the American public, our communities, our government, or our way of life. In the past, there have been many famous people who are widely recognized for what they have said, as much as for what they had done. One man said that “our nation was conceived in liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal”. Another famous leader said, “I have a dream”. And yet a third man stirred this nation with his words, “Ask not what I can do for you, but what you can do for your country”. And each of them had it right…and the people knew this. It was the right thing to do, the right thing to say, because it was the right thing to believe in…and at the right time. That is what brings a community together, the belief in the rightness of something. We know, as a community, when something is right or when it is just plain wrong.
Right now is that time…the time for change. The time to collectively say, with one voice, “We've had enough”. Now is the time to recognize that it takes someone with selfless motivation to represent their needs…to be their voice…their representation when the line has been drawn that they stand for them…because like them, they believe.
Some men have visions, some have dreams, I have a belief…I believe that the right person, at the right time, making the right decisions, can make all the difference in the world to improving my community and standards of living. I believe that the people of Indianapolis will agree. And that win or lose the Primary election, my candidacy will have in some measure done its job to better inform, enlighten and educate the public on some of the more important facts and issues that they otherwise would vote in ignorance of.
So, regardless of who you vote for, please do us all a service, take time to understand who you are voting for, who they represent, and how that will impact not just you, but the community at large. Empower your own vote—don't lose it to the power of big money commercial and mass media opinion. Make your vote count.
