Rock and Roll Harmonica inspired by the poetry of broken Japanese
Catriona Sturton plays accordian, harmonica, bass, shamisen and guitar on her new material ("she seems to play everything" Ottawa XPress)
To start the year, Catriona gave sold-out harmonica workshops for The Winnipeg Folk Festival.
As a member of Halifax indie-rock favourites, Plumtree, Catriona toured Canada with Thrush Hermit and The Weakerthans and was a VIP guest on The Price is Right.
Her alter ego as a blues harmonica player ("ace harmonica skills" - Chartattack) has seen Catriona play with Neko Case, The late Dutchy Mason and Al Tuck.
Catriona was a founding member of The Secret, a Hiroshima based-garage pop band.
wow! i am so excited!
*big happy eyes*
i was at work and my girlfriend told me you posted on my myspace and that made me happy, -then- she told me you were playing here and that made me VERY happy and when i got home from work my roomate screamed 'the bassist from plumtree is playing here!!!!' and i smiled a healthy grin.
you bet your bottom dollar i'll be there. hehe.
Hey, cheers for the add, liked the tunes! You need to get a plumtree myspace page going, your albums kept me (kinda) sane on all those bus trips to and from college...you guys are partly responsible for me dropping out of college and a normal job and instead trying to make a living taking photos of musicians (my parents would like a word with you....).
