About me:

Catskill Animal Sanctuary is a non-profit haven for abused and abandoned horses and farm animals located two hours north of Manhattan. We have aided about 1,400 animals since our incorporation in 2001. In addition to rescue,CAS raises public awareness of agribusiness and its impact on animals, humans, and the planet we share. Our educational program includes weekend farm tours, guest speakers, field trips, community service, and college internship opportunities.

Our director speaks throughout the region at schools and colleges, churches and temples, businesses and community organizations. Her book, Where the Blind Horse Sings, tells the story of Catskill Animal Sanctuary and is available in our online store and bookstores.

Who I'd like to meet:

We are always looking for volunteers and adoptive homes.

If you enjoy physical work, we could certainly use your help around the barn with chores ranging from stall cleaning, to watering the animals, to help with unloading tractor trailer loads of hay! If you prefer more sedentary work, contact us regarding administrative, event planning, and outreach opportunities!

Do you have the love, time, and resources to adopt a horse or farm animal? Is your home within a 4 hour drive of Saugerties, NY and zoned for farm animals (zoning doesn't apply to rabbits)? Start the process here with our adoption form.

Love animals but can't take one home? Consider a monthly sponsorship to support an animal waiting for adoption.

You can also find us on .
