   About CATTYWOMPUS
Recent transplants from California, Cattywompus moved to Austin after playing in Texas during an extensive tour of the US in 2006. "We fell in love with the people and the music" James Webber sited as the reason for the move to the Lone Star State. "We respect the history of the great artists from Texas and the love that Texan's have for live music. We had some good adventures while we toured TX."

Brothers James (bass) and John (drums) Webber have been playing music since they were teens, heavily influence by their father's love of music and playing. "Our father was a percussion player. He would make us stay up late and listen to all of his old records, and in the mornings we would see various band mates passed out on the couches as we left for school," John Webber remembers.

James and Jonathan Lennartz met in high school and became immediate friends through their love of music. Jonathan started playing and writing music in college, and has since used songwriting as an outlet for his own emotions and life experiences. Aaron Bateman, Florida native, met James in 2001, the two began jamming, along with John and Jonathan, and began forming a unique sound that represented each member's individual personality and influences.

Cattywompus is a band dedicated to American Roots music. As diverse as America itself, so is the band's musical heritage. Whether it be Rock, Country, Blues or Folk no specific genre accurately pin points Cattywompus. The four have been playing together for six years developing their craft under the influence of the Rolling Stones, Townes Van Zandt, Gram Parsons, Neil Young and countless others.

Their first single "The Soldier" came about by Jonathan's observation and appreciation for the dedicated and fearless people protecting our country and it's people. "I can't tell you how much respect I have for the soldiers. Whether you believe the war is right or wrong, you have to acknowledge that the soldiers are making great sacrifices to ensure the safety of all of us. I felt that their efforts needed to be praised. We are playing for the soldiers at the Center for the Intrepid, which is a rehabilitation center for injured soldiers. We want them to know how much we support them, in their time of need."

Cattywompus' Debut Album is Released.

ALBUM REVIEWS

"This album shows Cattywompus as one of those rare bands that can incorporate a lot of different influences while still maintaining their own unique sound. You can get the sense that the members of this band grew up listening to the likes of The Allman Brothers, The Band, and Flying Burrito Brothers. " - Gary Schwind, Antimusic.com

"Cattywompus delivers stirring songs with sentimental touches and a brazen rock attitude. I hear a bit of Gram Parsons and whole lot of spunk throughout the album. There's an element of tenderness that these cowboys exhibit." - Smother.net

"Rarely does a disc come in the mail that has more great tracks than not-so-great tracks but Gospel Hyms & Original Sins is Black Crowes meets Small Faces meets Waylon Jennings meets Tom Petty meets Gram Parsons meets Cosmic American Music." - Cosmic American Radio

The album serves as a living memorial to the man who inspired the band from a young age, Kevin Webber: witch doctor, wild man, mentor, the bands percussionist, music enthusiast and father to John & James Webber; drummer and bassist respectively.
