The band, initially formed in early 2007 by founding members Lee and Dan (UK), soon found itself in need of a new drummer and guitarist. But it wasn’t until the autumn, and two chance meetings later, that the line up was completed by Dom (AUS) and Masa (JPN). Securely grounded in their diverse yet old-school influences, these four individuals set out to forge their own sound. Combining both melodic and brutal elements with a return to logical, pounding rhythms and crushing riffs, they created their own brand of post-hardcore metal fusion. Throwing in some righteous indignation and socio-political vitriol, the explosive mixture was complete. Four minds, three countries, one heart; an international metal pulse for the twenty first century. Proof that a shared passion for music is all it takes to obliterate borders and crush preconceptions. This is the world of caustic hollow.

“It’s a jungle out there” or so they say. Jungle, desert, war zone, forest, you can choose your own metaphor, someday you may be right, but the fact remains that this world we live in, that we created, has many deadly barriers and pitfalls. Wars, genocide, corruption, inequality, prejudice, lies and misinformation, not to mention rabid religious indoctrination.
The list goes on.
Each wrong, each nefarious act that undermines our humanity is another gnarled and knotted trunk in our metaphorical forest. But, somewhere deep in that dark wood, amid the bitter twisted roots and choking creepers there is a clearing, a hollow. A breathing space for equilibrium. It’s a place where the caustic wind of indignation has stripped back the lies and vile hatred, exposing the bleached white bones of truth and righteousness. It’s a place to make a stand. Welcome to the world of caustic hollow.
