The metal project 'CAUTIVA' was founded in 2006 by JOSÉ TRAVIESO after the split-up of a young band of just a few of sessions called Desvirgator. With an early self-educated pianistic formation and releasing several works for piano solo during 1999-2003 period -exploring different styles like minimalism, romanticism, avant-garde or jazz-fusion-, JOSÉ TRAVIESO re-invented to himself as a metal guitarist after a time of creative silence. Leaving behind the split-up of his first attempt, 'Desvirgator', he decidied to develop his technical skills with the guitar and to record a demo of two songs with the idea to found later an own band. The 'Cautiva project' was born and a few months later that demo was finished. Today, CAUTIVA is conceived as a "band of an only man" and actually JOSÉ TRAVIESO writes, records and produces from time to time in his own study. «Fire, Walk With Me!» (released in january 25th of 2008) has been his first serious metal release, showing a sound full of strength, wrath and thrash, with complex riffs, passages and drum patterns inside a technical and progressive environment. Actually JOSÉ TRAVIESO writes and records new stuff for a next album, in a more aggressive line and trying always to make a music of sophistication, full of feelings and energy, trying to break with the indifference, always looking for the quality.
CAUTIVA is a Spanish word that means 'captive' and 'captivate' at the same time.

El proyecto metalero 'CAUTIVA' fue fundado en 2006 por JOSÉ TRAVIESO después de la ruptura de una joven banda de sólo unas pocas de sesiones llamada Desvirgator. El EP «Fire, Walk With Me!» (lanzado el 25 de enero de 2008) fue su primer álbum serio dentro del metal, proponiendo un sonido lleno de fuerza, ira y thrash, con complejos riffs, pasajes y patrones rítmicos dentro de un entorno de música técnica y progresiva. En la actualidad JOSÉ TRAVIESO escribe y graba nuevo material para su próximo álbum, en una línea más agresiva e intentando siempre hacer una música sofisticada y que se encuentre llena de sentimientos y energía, intentando que no deje indiferente, siempre buscando la calidad.

This is a "pre-release" edition from the original one... but the only difference is this previous edition doesn't have art works. These will be coming in one or two weeks... The music -what is the most important- is definitive.

- All the compositions and recordings are finished! -
Two days ago I finished all the recordings for «The Great Old One», song dedicated to the Howard Philips Lovecraft's horror universe and which is going to finish the upcoming album (except for the bonus track «Two Worlds»). All the compositions and recordings for this new album are finished! Great! By the way, all the mixes and mastering are made too (great! -again), but I'm actually waiting for a new equip in my own studio to do a little revision of the general mastering. As much as I receive it, I'll do this revision and all the music will be prepared to be shared for free from this website and www.cautiva.org. I hope to have ready all this before the 1st of June in a pre-release edition of the album.
While I'm waiting for the new equip, I will work in the cover art and design, which will be made by the excellent artist Fernando Medina from Aurora, Illinois. If everything is going properly with the project, I think that the conventional release of this new album will be out in the first week of June. :-) optimist, ok? :-)
What about the song «The Great Old One», one more time I have tried to do my best with the particular identity of CAUTIVA. As much as this track is going to be my last composition for this project (at least for a long time), I have tried to do something special. I hope you to like:
Hace un par de días finalicé todas las grabaciones para «The Great Old One», canción dedicada al universo de terror de Howard Philips Lovecraft y que va a cerrar el próximo álbum (con permiso del bonus track: «Two Worlds»). Así pues, ¡todas las composiciones y grabaciones para este nuevo álbum están terminadas! ¡Toma ya! Y lo mismo sucede con todas las mezclas y la masterización (¡genial una vez más!), pero en este mismo momento estoy esperando que me llegue un nuevo equipo que añadir a mi propio estudio y con el cual pretendo hacer una pequeña revisión del masterizado general. Nada más lo reciba, me centraré de lleno en dicha revisión y, por fin, toda la música está preparada para compartirse de forma gratuita tanto en esta web como en www.cautiva.org. Espero que todo esto esté listo para antes del 1 de junio. Nada más termine, pondré a compartir una edición "pre-release" del álbum.
Mientras espero para poder terminar la masterización, voy a dedicarme los próximos días a trabajar en el diseño de las cubiertas, las cuales serán realizadas por el artistazo de Fernando Medina (Aurora, Illinois). Si todo va bien con el proyecto y siendo optimista, creo que la edición convencional (incluyendo portadas) de este nuevo álbum -«Human»- estará en la calle a lo largo de la primera semana de junio. :-)
En cuanto a «The Great Old One», una vez más he intentado sacar lo mejor de mí para transmitir esta particular identidad musical de CAUTIVA. Ya que este corte va a ser mi última composición para dicho proyecto (al menos durante un buen tiempo), me he esforzado al máximo para hacer algo especial. Espero que os guste el jodío:
Actually I'm working in the lyrics and vocals for the last composition of «Human», the new upcoming album of CAUTIVA for this summer. All the composition is finished and all the instruments are recorded (except solos). I'm going to call the song as «The Great Old One». After considering a lot of topics about to speak, finally I have decided to be original respect my usual topics (denunciation) and to write about a very different thing. In this case, «The Great Old One» raises the Howard Philips Lovecraft's horror universe. I'm writing in first person about a crazy sectarian who is summoning the evil of the mindless sultan-daemon Azathoth, god of gods! :-) It's just like in my old role playing sessions!
I must write and record the most of the vocals (not much, I said! :-P ), and to work in all the solos... I will finish in this month, but I don't know when...

On the other hand, I've began to prepare the basis of my next project (yes, CAUTIVA will rest, at least for a time). I return to my old ideas of JOSE TRAVIESO, but from this new experience taken in the last two years and from the new recording software possibilities. I see potencial in all this and anyway I'm tired of the "always hardworking" of CAUTIVA... After the release of «Human» and the stop of CAUTIVA, I will have much more freedom to work and to experiment with music and musical language... Evolution and transformation, one more time.
By the way, the piece «El Juego de las Atracciones» has been recently used by the italian photographer Gualtiero as soundtrack for a video-retrospective of his work. A really ver interesting work:
Actualmente estoy trabajando en las letras y grabación de voces de la última composición que preparo para «Human», el nuevo álbum que CAUTIVA va a sacar durante este verano. Toda la composición está terminada y todos los instrumentos están grabados (excepto los solos). La canción va a titularse «The Great Old One». Después de pensar en un montón de tópicos sobre lo que podía cantar, finalmente hace unos días decidí ser original en cuanto a mi tema habitual (denuncia social y política) y dedicarme a escribir sobre alguna cosa bien distinta. En este caso, «The Great Old One» aborda el universo de terror de Howard Philips Lovecraft. Estoy escribiendo en primera persona como si de un loco sectario se tratara que pretende convocar el mal del necio sultán de los demonios Azathoth, ¡el dios de dioses! :-) ¡Como cuando jugaba a rol!
Aún me queda escribir y grabar la mayoría de voces, y ponerme a trabajar en los solos, a ver qué saco de éstos... Terminaré en este mes de mayo, pero todavía no puedo decir cuando...

En otro orden de cosas, ya he comenzado a preparar las bases de mi próximo proyecto (sí, CAUTIVA se detiene, al menos por un tiempo). Vuelvo a mis viejas ideas de JOSE TRAVIESO, pero ahora desde esta nueva experiencia que he adquirido durante los últimos dos años y partiendo desde las nuevas posibilidades de grabación del actual software. Suena prometedor, y de todos modos estoy cansado del "siempre trabajando duro" de CAUTIVA... Después de que salga «Human» y así pare con CAUTIVA, quiero tener mucha más libertad para trabajar y experimentar con la música y el lenguaje musical... Evolución y transformación, una vez más.
Y por cierto, la pieza «El Juego de las Atracciones» ha sido recientemente usada por el fotógrafo italian Gualtiero como banda sonora para una video-retrospectiva que ha hecho con su trabajo, muy interesante por cierto:
Before I founded the CAUTIVA project, in Autumn of 2005 I composed a song called «Two Worlds» with two friends, David Iglesias and Sergio Rubal. We were then trying to create a band called DESVIRGATOR, but it didn't work. Two months later this project died and «Two Worlds» was the only made composition. It was never recorded.
With the split-up of DESVIRGATOR, I initiated the CAUTIVA project. I wanted then to rescue someday that song inside this project, but I began to work in «Fire, Walk With Me!», «Love / Hate», later the interruption for almost a year of the project... After almost two years, in January of 2008, the «Fire, Walk With Me!» EP was released... and the song «Two Worlds» just put off, forgotten...
In April of 2008 I found a good moment to work again in the song. I had begun to write and record new stuff for a new album and I liked the idea to do a new version of «Two World». I worked hardly and I got a CAUTIVA revision of the piece. Although I didn't change anything of the previous vocal work, I changed a lot of things of the composition: new instrumental parts and melodies, solos, an extended version, more technical riffs and structures, more changes of rhythm... It was a complete instrumental revision, and though the essence of the song was there, also this got all the elements of the CAUTIVA concept.
In May of 2008 I finished the recording of all the instrumental parts, and I agreed with the old vocalist, Sergio Rubal, that he would record the vocal parts, just as he was singing in DESVIRGATOR. As much as I would have to transport all my equip to my old town to record with Sergio, we had to wait and I began meanwhile to work in other songs («WAR», «Swing Of Love», etc.). We put it off again, too much, but we decided the last month just not to wait more and to record it as soon as possible...
So, the last week I carried my home studio to Sergio's house and for three days we have been recording the vocal parts. We got a rather nice result and a few days ago I returned to Granada to do the vocal mixes and the finishing touches. After this long time from Autumn of 2005 until April of 2009, you have it just burning:
Originally coceived by David Iglesias, Sergio Rubal y José Travieso in Autumn of 2005 (lyrics by Sergio Rubal); remade and extended in April of 2008 by José Travieso; recorded by José Travieso (instruments) and Sergio Rubal (main vocals)... this song will be the last track for the upcoming album in Summer.

Después de un largo tiempo ya está hecho.
Antes de que fundase el proyecto CAUTIVA, en otoño de 2005 yo compuse un canción llamada «Two Worlds» junto a dos amigos, David Iglesias y Sergio Rubal. Por aquella época nosotros andábamos intentando formar una banda llamada DESVIRGATOR, que nunca terminó de arrancar. Dos meses más tarde este proyecto murió y la canción «Two Worlds» fue la único composición que quedó, sin ni siquiera haber sido grabada.
Con la ruptura de DESVIRGATOR, inicié el proyecto CAUTIVA. Entonces tuve en mente que algún día rescataría el «Two Worlds», pero poco a poco fui metiéndome en el trabajo de «Fire, Walk With Me!», «Love / Hate», a continuación una interrupción del proyecto por casi un año... Tras casi dos años, en enero de 2008, el EP «Fire, Walk With Me!» vio la luz... pero mientras tanto la canción «Two Worlds» había sido constantemente pospuesta, olvidada...
En abril de 2008 encontré un buen momento para dedicarme a ésta. Comencé a escribir y grabar nuevo material para un próximo álbum y me gustó la idea de hacer una nueva versión de «Two Worlds», pero dentro del contexto CAUTIVA. Tras un duro trabajó donde intenté exprimir al máximo, conseguí una revisión "cautivera" bastante interesante... A pesar de que no cambié nada del trabajo previo vocal, sí que modifiqué muchas cosas de la composición: añadí nuevas partes instrumentales y melodías, solos, hice una versión extendida de toda la exposición original, rehice los riffs y estructuras para que fuese un trabajo más técnico y progresivo, cambios de ritmo... Se trató de una completa revisión instrumental, y aunque la esencia de la canción original siempre se mantuvo, ésta poco a poco se fue nutriendo de todos los elementos que giran en torno al concepto CAUTIVA.
En mayo de 2008 terminé la grabación de todas las partes instrumentales, y entonces acordé con el viejo vocalista, Sergio Rubal, que él se encargaría de poner las partes vocales, justo como él estuvo cantando en DESVIRGATOR. Dado que yo tendría que transportar todo mi equipo a mi vieja ciudad para grabar con Sergio, nosotros tuvimos que esperar una buena ocasión y mientras tanto me dediqué a trabajar en otras canciones («WAR», «Swing Of Love», etc.). La grabación fue posponiéndose de nuevo, demasiado, y finalmente Sergio y yo decidimos el mes pasado no esperar más y justo grabarla nada más se pudiera...
Así, la semana pasada llevé todo mi estudio de "andar por casa" al hogar de Sergio, y durante tres días hemos estado grabando las distintas partes vocales. El resultado fue bastante favorable y hace unos días que regesé a Granada para hacer las mezclas y dar los toques finales. Por fin, tras todo este largo tiempo desde otoño de 2005 hasta abril de 2009, aquí está, bien calentito:
Originalmente cocebida por David Iglesias, Sergio Rubal y José Travieso en otoño de 2005 (letras de Sergio Rubal); recompuesta y extendida en abril de 2008 por José Travieso; y grabada por José Travieso (instrumentos) y Sergio Rubal (voces principales)... esta canción cerrará el álbum que espero lanzar con el verano.
Próximo objetivo: terminar de componer y grabar la última composición para el álbum.

Together this interesting release, the last week I finished with all the vocals of the new version of the song «Eat Your Tongue!» -from the CAUTIVA project- as much as the final mix. With it, a few days ago I did a test with all the songs recorded for the upcoming album and everything was going rather good with each other :-) Just I need to finish with the vocals of «Two Worlds» (I expect to record them during the first week of the next month), to do a new and final track for the album and to work in the cover art (actually I'm speaking with some artists).
So, I hope tomorrow to begin with the new song. I have a beginning in mind and I want to try with it...

Ayer se lanzó a través de Internet y mediante licencia "creative commons" el último trabajo de JOSÉ TRAVIESO y en el cual he estado trabajando de vez en cuando -como proyecto alternativo- durante los últimos seis meses: «A Retrospective: The Early Years - 1994-2003», una recopilación de tres CDs que incluye todos los cortes editados durante los último años así como una buena colección de rarezas de todo ese periodo, en total casi cuatro horas a través de las cuales se van combinando el romanticismo, la música de vanguardia y experimental, el jazz, la música ambiental, la música clásica... ¡otra buena ensalda!

Junto a este interesante trabajo, la semana pasada terminé de grabar las voces para la nueva versión de la canción «Eat Your Tongue!» -ya metidos en el proyecto CAUTIVA-, finalizando también con las mezclas. Con ello, hace unos días hice una prueba con todas las canciones grabadas para el próximo álbum simulando como si de éste se tratase y todo fue encajando perfectamente hasta el final :-) Para terminar el álbum ya sólo me queda grabar las voces del «Two Worlds» (espero grabarlas durante la primera semana del mes que viene), componer y grabar un último tema y, finalmente, trabajar en las portadas (en la actualidad estoy hablando al respecto con algunos artistas...).
En definitiva, que mañana espero comenzar a trabajar en la nueva canción. Tengo un principio en mente y me gustaría ir tirando por ahí, a ver si va saliendo algo guapo...

- Versatile mode -
After the recordings of the last song, «Human», I've decided to relax a bit and to spend this month working in a few of unresolved things that I've been having pending since a few months ago, as much in my project called JOSÉ TRAVIESO as much in CAUTIVA. What about the first, I've finished with all the rescue of old and unreleased tracks from my first period as musician (more or less 1994-2003) and I'm actualling preparing a conventional release to compile all them. During this period of ten years, I was working -very irregularly- in different pieces and little projects... Some of them were released as demos, EPs and so on («Ensayos Sobre Música Esporádica», the «Lluvia de Mayo» CD-S, «De Luces y de Sombras», etc.), but a lot of things were just unfinished, not released owing to lack of digital technology and means, or maybe scorned by myself, and so on... Fortunately I was then keeping the most of midis and scores, and with the new technologies of nowadays I've been able to work in them to manage a decent sound. I had this idea in September when I began to work in the re-releases of my old editions and since then I've been rescuing from time to time something... Finally I think that the idea has been a success, as much as I've been able to rescue over 20 tracks! I had really a lot of interesing (and really abandoned) things! All this stuff will be broadcast in a new release including all the already released tracks during this period. We are speaking about a box of three complete CDs with all this music, being my definitive reconciliation with those years and the end of that personal era.

Actually I'm working in the artwork and the digital releases by Internet, finishing at all at the end of this month :-) I'm excited with it, as much as this is my last JOSÉ TRAVIESO's release since the «De Luces y de Sombras» album in 2003. What about CAUTIVA, since two week ago I've been working in a new version of the song «Eat Your Tongue!». When I began to work in it, the «Fire, Walk With Me!» EP was just released and the ideas and engineering for a new album were totally limited. The tune «Eat Your Tongue!» was finished then and the sound wasn't as good as in my last productions, I didn't work properly with the recordings of the vocals, I was continuing then with my idea -later left- to mix extreme and melodic vocals (own of the «Fire» EP)... There were some unmature things and facing this song for the upcoming album of CAUTIVA, I've had to work again in the mix and production. I haven't changed the instrumental stuff, but I've done some partial arrangements and I've extended a section. I wasn't satisfied with the original vocals, so that I decided the last week to record them again. Actually I'm working with the last vocal part, having problems again with it -I think that this last vocal part and me are eternal enemies- but I hope to finish very soon with the new version :-)
Finished «Eat Your Tongue!», maybe I have to work a bit in the mix of «WAR»... I don't know just now. After this song, the production for the rest of the songs is properly with the upcoming release and I will not touch them.

Tras grabar la última canción, «Human», he decidido relajarme un poco y dedicarme este mes a trabajar en algunas cosas pendientes que tenía desde hace ya varios meses, tanto respecto a mi proyecto al que llamo JOSÉ TRAVIESO como respecto a CAUTIVA. En cuanto a lo primero, por fin he terminado con todo el rescate de rarezas y temas inéditos de mi primer periodo como músico (más o menos los años 1994-2003), y actualmente estoy preparando un lanzamiento convencional con el objeto de recopilar todo ello. Durante este periodo de diez años, yo estuve trabajando -muy irregularmente- en diferentes piezas y pequeños proyectos... Algunos de estos trabajos aparecieron en demos, EPs y cosas por el estilo («Ensayos sobre Música Esporádica», el CD-S «Lluvia de Mayo», el álbum «De Luces y de Sombras», etc.), pero también hubo bastantes cosas que se quedaron sin terminar, que no pude sacar porque no contaba con los suficientes medios tecnológicos o acústicos para ello, también hubo piezas que en su momento infravaloré, algunos estudios... Por fortuna durante todo ese tiempo fui guardando la mayoría de ficheros midi y partituras, y ahora ha sido posible que con las tecnologías de hoy en día haya podido trabajar de nuevo con este material para alcanzar un sonido decente e incluso conseguir lanzarlo al público. Esta idea de intentar "reciclar" algunas cosas antiguas mías se me ocurrió durante el mes de septiembre, cuando comencé a trabajar en el re-lanzamiento de todas mis viejas ediciones. Desde entonces estuve haciendo algún que otro rescate y hoy día, tras haber terminado, pienso que la idea ha sido un éxito, pues he podido salvar como unas ¡20 grabaciones! Buscando y buscando me he encontrando con muchas cosas interesantes del pasado (¡y bien abandonadas!) y el conjunto está quedando bastante resultón... Toda esta música inédita será editada a través de un nuevo lanzamiento el cual va a incluir también la totalidad de todos los cortes previamente editados durante este periodo de 1994-2003. En total estamos hablando de nada más y nada menos que una caja de tres CDs grabados hasta arriba, tratándose de mi reconciliación definitiva con aquellos mágicos años y el final de esa era personal.

En este momento estoy trabajando en las portadas y los lanzamientos digitales a través de Internet, y espero terminarlo todo antes de que termine el mes :-) Me siento excitado con ello, tanto como que se trata de mi último lanzamiento como JOSÉ TRAVIESO desde ese «De Luces y de Sombras» de 2003. Y como siempre, copyleft y licencia creative commons (graba y distribuye lo que quieras).
Respecto a CAUTIVA, desde hace dos semanas he estado trabajando en una nueva versión de la canción «Eat Your Tongue!». Cuando comencé a trabajar en ella, el EP «Fire, Walk With Me!» estaba recién terminado y cualquier idea o ingenieria para un nuevo álbum se encontraba totalmente limitada. Como resultado de esto, «Eat Your Tongue!» quedó a medio camino entre el «Fire» y lo que va a ser el nuevo álbum, tanto a ideas como a técnicas de grabación y producción se refiere, y ha sido necesario comenzar a darle un buen lavado de cara... Había algunas cosas aún inmaduras ahí -como mi idea ya abandonada y propia de la etapa «Fire» de mezclar voces extremas y melódicas, inadecuado con mi estupenda capacidad como cantante :-/ ¡jejeje!-, y esto me ha llevado a trabajar estos últimos días no sólo en la producción y mezcla, sino a rehacer algunas cosas. En cuanto a lo que instrumentos se refiere, no he cambiado prácticamente nada, pero sí que he hecho algunos pequeños arreglos y extendido una sección. Por otro lado y en su momento, no quedé satisfecho con las voces grabadas (especialmente las partes melódicas), así que la semana pasada decidí regrabar todas estas voces. Ahora mismo estoy con la última parte vocal, y de nuevo teniendo problemas con ésta, como la primera vez -de hecho pienso que esta parte vocal y yo venimos a ser como eternos enemigos o algo así-, pero espero terminar pronto con todo ello y dar por terminada la nueva versión :-)
Una vez haya terminado con «Eat Your Tongue!», tal vez necesite trabajar un poco también en la mezcla de «WAR», aunque ahora mismo no lo sé... Eso sí, tras grabar en su momento esta canción, todo lo que fue producción e ideas se estabilizaron de cara al nuevo disco, por lo que no tengo en mente retocar las siguientes composiciones que hice...

- The first «Human» is finished -
It has been titanic, but finally yesterday at night I was able to finish at all the new song of CAUTIVA and which will have the same name that the coming album in Summer: «Human». As much as this track is going to be the main title, I've put all my efforts to reach the quintessence of CAUTIVA, trying to get complex and epic riffs and drums patterns, a complex but solid structure, versatile and effectives changes of speech, crazy and diabolic solos and everything that -really always- I pursue in this difficult project. I've taken care of a lot details in this song and for me is other little gem in my personal musical collection :-)
One more time, the worst has been to record the vocals, as much as my job (teacher) is incompatible with it, specially singing like I want in this project. I haven't been able to record much every day because I've been loosing fastly my voice, I've had a cough, sore throat... It has been the worst because this song had a lot of vocal parts! :-/ But I've finished them at alllll!!! :-) And I've had to work a lot in the production too! Hahaha! :-)
I think the next (and last) composition will have just a few of words! ;-)
The first «Human» is finished. I must now to finish with the second one, the album, which will be a bit more difficult ;-)

Ha sido un poco titánico, pero por fin ayer por la noche pude dar por terminada la nueva canción de CAUTIVA, la cual recibe el mismo nombre que tendrá el próximo álbum que espero sacar en verano: «Human». Ya que esta canción iba a denominarse como el disco, me he esforzado al máximo en intentar alcanzar la quintaesencia de CAUTIVA, intentando lograr todo el tiempo complejos y épicos riffs y patrones de batería, una compleja pero sólido estructura, unos cambios de discurso versátiles y efectivos, unos solos endiablados y, en fin, todo aquello que -realmente siempre- persigo dentro de este difícil proyecto. He cuidado muchísimo detalles de la canción y para mí se trata de otra pequeña joyita dentro de mi repertorio personal :-)
Una vez más lo peor ha sido enfrentarme a la grabación de las voces, principalmente porque mi trabajo (soy maestro) es incompatible con ello, y en especial si consideramos la forma de cantar que habitualmente quiero para el proyecto (¡gritos!). De hecho, no he podido grabar mucho cada día, en cuanto que nada más empezar, a las pocas tomas, ya se iba notando fastidiada la voz y debía parar por unas horas o incluso hasta el día siguiente... Para colmo se me ha mezclado con un resfriado... dolor de garganta... Grabar las voces en esta canción ha sido realmente lo más pesado, ¡en cuanto que tenía un montón de partes vocales! :-/ ¡Pero por fin las he terminado todas!!!! :-) Y también debo reconocer que he tenido que tirar bastante de la produccción. ¡Jajaja! :-)
Creo que la próxima (y última) composición para el álbum tendrá justo unas poquillas de palabras, ¡no más! ;-)
Bueno, el primer «Human» está terminado. Ahora me queda terminar con el segundo, el disco, lo cual será un poquito más difícil aún ;-)

- «Human» by «Human» -
With the new year I began to work in a new song for the next album and actually I have two complete and definitive minutes of instrumental music. The track will receive the same name that I've had in mind since a few of weeks ago for the own album: «Human». The song is in the line of the more radical CAUTIVA concepts: very complex and difficult riffs, parts and drums patterns; a lot of sudden changes and a structure with many parts; aggressive attitude; wrath; and so on... This song is working in the way of -for example- «Fire, Walk With Me!», «Swing Of Love» or the second half of «WAR». As always I'm trying my best with all the stuff:
What about the new album, the last Autumn I expected the release for Autumn/Winter of 2009, but the last months I've able to work hardly and I think that maybe it's possible to release it on Summer (August?). As I said before, the album will be called too «Human», and it will have nine tracks (including an instrumental intro taken from my compositions as JOSÉ TRAVIESO). Actually I must finish two songs (this one and the vocals sessions for «Two Worlds»), to make from zero the last composition (and to record it), to work again in the mix (and maybe vocals) of «Eat Your Tongue!» and to think (and to work) in the covers of the album as much as the own release ("just digital?", "maybe physical copies too?" and questions like these)... Combining with my other musical project -JOSÉ TRAVIESO-, I think that -if there are no problems- it's possible to finish for July, more or less...

Con la llegada del nuevo año comencé a trabajar en una nueva canción para incluir dentro del próximo álbum, y en este mismo momento tengo ya al respecto dos minutos completos y definitivos de música instrumental. El corte recibirá el mismo nombre que he estado teniendo en mente últimamente para denominar al propio álbum: «Human». La canción va en la línea del concepto más radical de CAUTIVA: riffs, partes y patrones de batería muy complejos y dificultosos; un montón de cambios repentinos y una estructura con muchas partes; una actitud agresiva y desgarrada; ira; etc... Esta canción conecta con el concepto de temas como -por ejemplo- «Fire, Walk With Me!», «Swing Of Love» o la segunda mitad de «WAR». Como siempre, me esfuerzo al máximo en sacar lo mejor que se me ocurre:
En cuanto al nuevo álbum, el otoño pasado consideré el lanzamiento para otoño/invierno de 2009, pero ya que durante los últimos meses he podido dedicarle algo de más tiempo al proyecto y he adelantado trabajo, pienso que tal vez es posible también adelantar el lanzamiento para el verano (¿agosto?). Como he dicho arriba, el álbum recibirá el título de «Human» -como la actual canción-, y estará formado por nueve cortes (incluyendo una intro instrumental tomada de mis composiciones firmadas como JOSÉ TRAVIESO). En la actualidad debo terminar dos canciones (ésta y llevar a cabo las sesiones de grabaciones vocales del «Two Worlds»), crear desde cero la última de las composiciones y grabarla, rehacer las mezclas (y puede que regrabar las voces) del «Eat Your Tongue!» y pensar (y trabajar) en la portada, contraportada, etc., así como ver de qué forma y con qué medios voy a editar el CD ("¿sólamente digital?", ¿tal vez con copias físicas también?", etc.), y hacerlo... Combinando todo esto con lo que ahora mismo quiero ir haciendo de mi otro proyecto musical -JOSÉ TRAVIESO-, creo que -si no hay contratiempos- será posible tenerlo todo acabado para julio, más o menos...
De momento, que llegue febrero :-)
