The Cavities began as an experimental side project in the spring of 2004. Anne Castellano, then of the Skin Walkers, and Laurin Killian of Flesh Hammer decided to try their hands at songwriting and doing some of the things they weren't able to do with their other bands. It was a rough start but after a few open mic nights at Station 58 (R.I.P.) in New London we made our first scheduled public appearance at a house party in Coventry CT in front of our friends who had been drinking home-brew all day (they were a great audience!). Since then we have played at the Bank Street Cafe, Muddy Waters Cafe, Heroes, the Brass Rail, the Empress of Art gallery, 25 Franklin Street, Artspace in Norwich, the Oasis Pub, the Carriage House, the Hygienic Art Park (we were the first band to ever play on that stage!), and Schmedley's Pub & Restaurant. We have just released our full-length CD "Bad Idea" on Cosmodemonic Telegraph. It was engineered by Hugh Birdsall of the Reducers and Dogbite. Hugh also plays bass on the CD and Daniel Thompson guests with a fiddle part on "Darkness". ("Darkness" also appears on the Towers of New London 4 double-CD local compilation released in 2006.) If you are interested in purchasing a copy of "Bad Idea" it is available for $10 and $3 additional for shipping. Just message us here!

Hi there The Cavities first of all we'd like to say thanks for being our myspace pal. We wanted to make sure you knew the reason incase we suddenly vanish off of your friends list. The movement we've started for indie artists has grown significantly and consumes all of our time these days. We seldom sign into our myspace account and this is making several people believe that we are ignoring them. We are not ignoring anyone, we wanted everyone to know that. What we're doing has become so busy we just don't have the time for myspace any longer, so in all honesty we are probably going to just close our myspace account.
Many people wanted to use us in the future so if you were one of those people make sure you bookmark the link below so that in the event that we do close our myspace account you won't lose contact with us. I wish you the best of luck in your music career. Thanks again for being our myspace pal.
We have also built a pretty big music community which you are welcome to join if you want to meet new artists like yourself!
