Asazi Space Funk Explosion - Highlights from the last gig of 2008 from Peter Gerard on Vimeo.
Asazi overloading a video camera at the Forest Cafe birthday party.
REVIEW: Asazi Space Funk Explosion @ Knockengorroch Festival September 2007

"The first thing we notice is a not-too-muddy-yet pair of green wellies with the words 'Asazi' and 'Love' spray painted on them in bright orange. This seems appropriate as the next thing we notice is the most beautiful sound coming out of the mouth of the owner of said wellies – Asazi himself. Accompanied by Alex Marten ..board, effects, guitar and percussion, Caz Anthony on drums and Andy Farina on bass, lead man Asazi mesmerises the crowd with his treacle-rich voice, molten sax and unhinged marimba. The tracks come hot and fast – a sonorous mix of melodic heart-wrenchers and thumping, booty-shaking rock-out rhythms. What explodes on stage is an inter-planetary mix of afro-celt-space-funk-dub-tech-balkan lunacy, vibrant with a mélange of musical and cultural influence not attributable to any one place, time or solar system. Asazi Space Funk Explosion… this is revolution." - By Jennifer Lynn Williams, Reverb Magazine.

Thanks to Peter Gerard and Accidental Media for the Asazi Space Funk Explosion videos.

Thanks to Raphael, who took my profile picture during an Asazi gig in Edinburgh.. see www.arktouros.net for more of his work.

Maybe Tomorrow and Lullalie appear courtesy of EMI - many thanks to Scott for his engineering efforts.

Alien Left Hand -- What the critics say:

"At last a follow up to Janette Mason's sparkling debut as leader. Alien Left Hand ....was well worth the wait…” Production **** Performance**** -- BBC Music Magazine

“…an album fizzing with fresh ideas and delights, an exhilarating musical journey .. with brilliantly original writing and inspired playing…” -- Helen Mayhew

"Every track from the rhythmic ‘NY Cab Ride’ and restless ‘4 Wheel Drive’ to the brooding ‘Mae’s Song’ has a terrific hook but it’s the way Mason switches tempo and moods that makes ALH great fun.

MIYAGI

Dec 11 2007 6:07 PM

Well the Miyagi album is finally complete! If you want to be one of the first to get a copy then you must come to the launch night in Edinburgh this friday (14th dec). After that details will be revealed of where you out of towners can get your grubby paws on your very own Lucky Face. Thanks for listening. Miyagi

And as we're not on 'till late, may we recommend the opening night of The Acoustic Cafe as a little warm up featuring the utterly brilliant William Douglas and the Wheel. Go on, make a night of it!
