About me:
tired, pissed off, and full of self hate...
but enough about me, how YOU doin?!
OK, maybe you want more? It's mostly all about the music
I'm a gig whore. There is nothing else I can be except brutally honest. There is nothing more exhilerating, and it's such a buzz to be battering people around in a pit. So, I like the agression, the power, the speed, the atmosphere..... I don't like the sweaty metallers, with their tops off, rubbing their sweat into me.... Or head butting me in the face!! That I could have done without last nite! So I go to as many gigs as I can afford, or make time for.
Luckily, as a DJ I can interview bands, and I love meeting the people who put their passion into their music. It's amazing to listen to a CD, or go to a gig, and then meet the people who created it. It's not a star struck thing - hell, I've never been intimidated or anything by any of the bands I've met, I don't have a 'thing' for famous people... It's just so cool to meet different types of people, and I think that they appreciate a genuine fan asking different questions about stuff, rather than, "who are your influences, blah blah," I'm more likely to ask about the philosophy driving the lyrics etc.
So my likes are all listed on the page, I've opened my soul about music.... Um, I'm really into academic shit! Really!! I find the way people think fascinating. So I read as much as I can, as many different things as possible. At the moment, I'm doing my Masters in Philosophy, so am reading mostly about philosophy, religion and ethics. Mostly. And I don't get enough time to read, which sucks.
I'm watching music TV atm, and Placebo are on. That's another thing I do, when I'm home, watch music TV. And smoke.
So I go to C103, the club formerly known as JFKS. It's a hole, it sucks but we still love it. However, if it wasn't for the poles then I don't think I'd last a nite!
