Fine Art influences are : My long residency,
ongoing visual education and practice, in Manhattan .
( Studied and worked with numerous Artists, that you can find in major museums
and Art history books...... details upon request )
NYC, since the influx of many pioneers of Modern Art, during and after WWll, became
the center...and still is, folks.......though great stuff can certainly happen elswhere, like,
Clifford Still, John Baldessari, Agnes Martin, Georgia O'Keefe, are just a few examples,
of those based elswhere, doing, having created, important work.
NYC has hosted the most important dialectic in contemporary painting's historical direction . Artists still come from all over the globe to break, bigtime, here .
Yes, despite the fact that all those huge, hi-rent spaces in Chelsea, mostly show
rich kids, adults, too, that come from money and will guarantee, at least, a few sales
for the very large house rent, no matter how shallow, the "work", might be .
Of course, important shows are there, too, though, not often enough....
....this past winter i saw a very impressive show of Frank Stella's large flat canvases from 2000, shown in nyc, for first time .
Nonetheless, we do have the most galleries and perhaps, the most aspiring artists working, struggling and we have unbeatable museum, education resources, along with the ridiculous rents .
Luckily, i arrived, when it was possible, for a young artist to find an affordable apt./studio .
God Bless aspiring youngsters, that come to town, now, without having substantial means .

In 1999, i stopped painting canvases ( lack of space )
and turned to the computer/photoshop to produce,
longlasting, LIGHTFAST, digital prints that i print & sell, from my East Soho, formerly Little Italy studio ( The Real Estate biz has coined "nolita", which, i feel & think,
is way too cutesy for these "Mean Streets" past )
They can be made any size ( larger, done per commission ) but usually print here & sell to friends, 13"x19", at a very affordable price.
Hopefully, soon, i can make 2 more slideshows with a more extensive collection, as this is, so far, just a random selection of some of the more popular pieces available . One will be representational work and one with the non-objective work .
I do limited editions of 100 .
They are now lightfast durable for approx. 200 years,
thanks to an Epson 2000P .
Enjoy the work..... and hopefully, my cazzjazz background music........ cheers,
cazio
