There are few places I would rather be than sailing (although I do not get out on my boat nearly enough). There is just something about sitting at the helm, the boat nicely heeled over, the wind teasing what’s left of my hair...
I am a Senior Reiki Jin Kei Do Practitioner. This has proven to be an incredible Path of self-growth and discovery.
REIKI JIN KEI DO
I love to travel and explore different countries and cultures. I regularly go to museums, art exhibits and other cultural events.
Life should be full of zest! Joining friends or family at a never-before-tried restaurant for spirited conversation over good food and fine wine is one of my favorite activities.
I enjoy dancing. I would like to learn how to tango, rumba, and salsa beyond the basics.
Music
I pretty much like to listen to everything from oldies to opera.
I sometimes find myself singing Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra in the shower - not that I sing them well, but every now and then you just feel like a good caterwaul.
I enjoy listening to songs and melodies from around the world and the rhythms of the doumbek or taiko drumming can really fire my blood!
Movies
There are too many great movies out there that I have enjoyed over the years to list them all. I grew up wanting to be James Bond (first movie I remember was You Only Live Twice). The fact that I was a serious fencer in college was probably due to the influence of Errol Flynn reruns. I still am riveted by the chariot race in Ben Hur.
Recent movies would include The Lord of the Rings, The Last Samurai, and The Libertine.
....BUT...my favorite movie of the all time is Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
Television
I do not watch television that often, but my all-time favorite show, hate to miss even the reruns, is GlobeTrekker. They take the coolest trips!
Books
I pretty much like to read everything: from Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings to Tolstoy’s War and Peace; from Hoff’s The Tao of Pooh to Hawking’s A Brief History of Time. It is all good!
I would like to make special mention here of my friends’ work: Steve Gooch’s Reiki Jin Kei Do, and Kristy Tallman’s incredibly eloquent poetry and her debut novel, The All Soul’s Faire.
One of my favorite works of literature is Cervantes’ Don Quixote, probably because I also do not believe chivalry is dead and sometimes find myself tilting at windmills.
In addition, I enjoy poetry, with my favorite poet probably being Basho (but it really depends on the mood).
My favorite poem, Invictus by William E. Henly, I will share with you:
Out of the night that covers me,
black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be,
for my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance,
I have not winced nor cried aloud,
under the bludgonenings of chance,
my head is bloodied but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears,
looms but the horror of the shade,
and yet the coming of the years,
finds, and shall find me, unafraid.
It matters not how straight the gate,
how charred with punishment the scroll,
I am the master of my fate,
I am the captain of my soul.
Heroes
First and foremost among these is my own father. He taught me by example what it is to be a great Dad.
Chris Whatever peace I know rests in the natural world, in feeling myself a part of it, even in a small way.

Basically, I’m a nice guy. I am far from perfect, but I do my best to live honorably. I still believe the Boy Scout code is a good one to go by.
I am a great Dad to two wonderful children. I have an active sense of humor, although it tends to run a little dry at times. I love a really great bad pun.
I have a passion for travel and particularly enjoy historic sites. I like learning about and exploring other cultures. I definitely have an adventurous spirit. I think it is important to continue to grow by trying new experiences and listening to other perspectives.
I have many interests, but am always looking to discover a new one.
This past year my life has taken some amazing and incredible turns. My initial goal was to establish a network of alternative healing practitioners to do pro bono work with cancer and hospice patients in my area. Through some incredible connections, this grew into co-founding the Humanity Healing Network. This, in turn, rippled out into the Humanity Healing Foundation, a nonprofit corporation dedicated to identifying and implementing sustainable solutions worldwide to improve the human condition through the Keys of Spiritual Activism. Please join us!

There are many people throughout history that I would like to meet: Gilgamesh, Sun Tsu, Plato, Confucius, Alexander, Archimedes, Caesar, Jesus, Buddha, Muhammad, William the Conqueror, Hideyoshi, Shakespeare, Musashi, Basho, Voltaire, Franklin, Mozart, Hokusai, Monet, Einstein, Usui, Churchill, Ghandi, Armstrong (Louie and Neil), Mother Theresa...just to name a few...
As far as the people I would like to meet in the present, I would start with all the interesting new friends I have made on MySpace and continue to expand my circle of friends with an eclectic assortment of different perspectives, talents and experiences.
Be someone who listens, and you will be heard. Be someone who cares, and you will be loved. Be someone who gives, and you will be blessed. Be someone who comforts, and you will know peace.
Be someone who genuinely seeks to understand, and you will be wise. Be someone kind, someone considerate, and you will be admired. Be someone who values truth, and you will be respected. Be someone who takes action, and you will move life forward.
Be someone who lifts others higher, and your life will be rich. Be someone filled with gratitude, and there will be no end to the things for which you'll be thankful.
Be someone who lives with joy, with purpose, as your own light brightly shines. Be in every moment, the special someone you are truly meant to be.
