MySpace a place for friends

So who or what is C Bentley? Good question... out of lack of imagination for a proper band name, I simply chose my own name as my moniker to record, produce, and mix under. When the mood hits, I work on electronic soundscapes, dance type tracks, and other noise in no particular style. Since I'm far from being a decent lyricist, you won't hear vocals in many of my tracks. On occassion, I've been known to belt out a few cover tunes whcich have been included on 3 seperate New Order cover CDs available via Neworder Online. The now out of print Community 1 CD features my version of "In a Lonely Place," the Community EP has my version of "Temptation." The latest release from the site,Community 2, includes my cover of ICB. There is a bonus disc that ships with C2 with a collaborative effort called "Tell Me Again" with myself and another C2 artist, Andy McNally(aka kREMLIN).

Other than tinkering with my synth gear, I'm often found mixing, recording, producing, and even mastering projects for other artists in a wide range or genres. Who knows what I'll be workng on next? Since I have no definitive body of work as an artist, the songs featured in my player are from various projects with descriptions and thoughts listed below.

Tell Me Again

This tune was written by Andy McNally and myslef through a rapid fire of FTP exchanges and e-mails. Although we've never met, it seems that we were both on the same wavelength for this song and it came together fast. One of my favorites. Hopefully we'll be able to crank out a few more tunes together soon.

Heartbeats - C Bentley Remix

This remix is of an original song by the band Thrushes. While it's a far cry from the echoing guitars and heavy drums of the original, I always love to take songs like this and put them into a different element to hear what happens. In this case, when the dust settled it had turned into a synth laden dance track... no suprises there eh? Be sure to give Thruses a listen and check out the cd "Heartbeats Remixed." A rejuvenated version of an older arrangement I had done. My return to using mainly analog synths and outboard gear fuled this song to completion as a no excuses electronic dance track. Kick drum mixed loud and proud. How I miss my 909...
