Influences
Von Planxty bis Pogues, von Tannahill Weavers bis Runrig, von Diaouled Ar Menez bis Tri Yann und von Hölzchen bis Stöckchen - eigentlich klauen wir, wo wir können (nein, soll natürlich heissen, wir lassen uns inspirieren).
Alles kräftig umrühren, mal schauen, was wir an Instrumenten dazu bedienen können und dann Augen zu und durch, bis es so klingt, wie wir das haben wollen.
Das Ergebnis kommt manchmal etwas kräftiger, ab und zu auch etwas dezenter, schonmal auch mit einem genrefremden Rhythmus oder mit gewöhnungsbedürftiger Begleitung daher.
Gegründet Ende 1996 von Rolf, Detlef und Andreas, entwickelte sich die Kapelle mit Schwerpunkten auf Schottischem und Irischem, aber der Tellerrand wurde nie so streng genommen - es gab von Anfang an diverses Liedgut aus anderen Ecken der Welt und es musste auch nicht alles mindestens 100 Jahre abgehangen sein.
Erste gemeinsame Gigs gab es 1997, Ende 1998 konnte Hannes geschanghait werden, gleich nachdem er bei La Chanterelle ausstieg, und seitdem kann CC auch zum Tanz aufspielen - Hannes und Detlef sind seit Jahrhunderten (oder waren es Jahrtausende?) auch in der Tanzszene unterwegs.
2006 hat durch Helmut ein jazziger Groove den Sound von CC infiltriert und Ende 2008 formiert sich die Kapelle erneut um: Andreas, Rolf und Helmut scheiden aus und werden durch Paul und Bärbel Kondziolka ersetzt.
Nun hat die Kapelle auch Fiddle und E-Gitarre mit an Bord, ausserdem sind Hannes und Paul jetzt die "neuen" Sänger und zusammen mit Bärbels Stimme liegt der Schwerpunkt zukünftig verstärkt auf mehrstimmigem Gesang.

Founded late 1996 by Rolf, Detlef and Andreas, the band made its thing on scottish and irish songs, but not without looking beyond the edge - right from the beginning, material from other corners of the world was part of the program, and it hasn't to be at least a 100 years old.
First gigs in 1997, Hannes was shanghaied 1998, just after he left La Chanterelle, and since then, CC is also able to play up for dancing - Hannes and Detlef meanwhile are on the floor with the folkdancing-scene for centuries (or even milleniums?).
In 2006, with our new member Helmut, a jazzy groove was added to the sound of CC and at the end of 2008 the band re-organizes itself once more: Andreas, Rolf and Helmut are replaced by Paul and Bärbel Kondziolka.
Now the band has a fiddle and an el. Guitar on board, Hannes and Paul are the "new" singers and together with Bärbel's vocals there will be more songs for several voices in the future.

I have performed/played so many of the songs over the years that you have on your player, esp Wild Mountain Thyme, House Carpenter & Last Thing on my Mind. I played Last Thing on my Mind when I was 10 around campfires at camp!
Anyway, it was a pleasure stopping over at your site & hearing your clips. Brought back so many memories!
