If your family has certain interests, it would be possible for you to host a student who enjoys those same interests. You never know, the same interests could actually be viewed differently in another country. | | Music | There are many talented children who are involved in musical activities and classes in their home countries. We have students who can play many musical instruments and are also very talented singers. These same students are often interested in the same music and artists as our own children. Wouldn't you like to here the same music in another language? | | Movies | Imagine taking your exchange student to an American movie theater for the very first time! There is a child who has always dreamed of experiencing this. Why not make a dream come true? | | Television | Everything that is viewed on TV is not true! What is true is that kids are the same around the world. Everyone in other countries don't always hate Americans. All international people are not bad people or terrorists. These children see America on TV and in books, we owe it to them to let them know that America is not a bad place, we don't all represent the same feelings as our government. | | Books | | | Heroes | Did you know that you could be only a few months away from becoming someones HERO?

About me:
CCI is a nonpofit organization established in 1985. Our mission is to aspire to create a better, more peaceful world through the increased understanding between individuals, cultures and nations. By doing so, we provide international exchange students with an opportunity to travel to the United States. While here, they have an opportunity to experience American culture by living with volunteer host families, attending local high schools and volunteering in the community.

Who I'd like to meet:
Loving families within the Richmond area and surrounding counties who are interested in hosting an exchange student for 5 to 10 months at a time. We would also like to meet high school students, college students, church groups or individuals ages 11 to 80 who are interested in the opportunity to study abroad or serve as a volunteer in another country.
