We can, for example, be fairly confident that either there will be a world without war or there won't be a world - at least, a world inhabited by creatures other than bacteria and beetles, with some scattering of others. - Noam Chomsky

About me: CCSU HOME PAGE http://clubs.ccsu.edu/ccsupsa/ The Progressive Student Alliance (PSA) works to educate CCSU students and its surrounding community about political, economic, and social issues. We believe that by providing a forum for education of both local and global injustices, we can motivate people to work to better our society.
PSA values basic human rights and understands that we must protect these rights through political activism. We organize and participate in activities both on and off campus that work to promote a more peaceful and just society . In the past, we have organized and attended marches, demonstrations, teach ins and other events to build a progressive movement at CCSU. PSA acknowledges the interconnectedness of economic and social struggles at the campus, local, state, national, and international level. We promote activism, strive for unity with other like minded student groups, and build solidarity between the campus and community.
Through these actions and goals we work together to create a strong, progressive voice for students that will help to pursue social justice for our campus, country, and world.
Cost of Freedom: The Anthology of Peace and Activism is out now, and stuffed with photos, artwork, poetry and stories from American progressive movements.
Noam Chomsky says Cost of Freedom "should inspire many more to join in these efforts to create a powerful force of concerned citizens that cannot be ignored."
Ramsey Clark calls Cost of Freedom "a powerful cry for peace."
Ralph Nader says it will "stir you to join with other patriots for democractic actions and restorations."
A portion of the proceeds benefit small, local activist groups across the US.

Nearly 90 percent of Army National Guard units in the United States are rated "not ready" -- largely as a result of shortfalls in billions of dollars' worth of equipment -- jeopardizing their capability to respond to crises at home and abroad, according to a congressional commission that released a preliminary report yesterday on the state of U.S. military reserve forces.
Just a thought,
now might be a good time for stuff...

"To love. To be loved. To never forget your own insignificance. To never get used to the unspeakable violence and the vulgar disparity of life around you. To seek joy in the saddest places. To pursue beauty to its lair. To never simplify what is complicated or complicate what is simple. To respect strength, never power. Above all, to watch. To try and understand. To never look away. And never, never, to forget." - Arundhati Roy
