About me:

Contemporary Dance Academy's mission is to provide the residents of Prince George's County Maryland and the neighboring areas with a pre-professional training program for youth regardless of financial status. Given the requirements of the dance community at the professional level, we provide students the choice to follow either a contemporary or classical emphasis while still receiving a well rounded dance education. In addition, following the belief that dance is for everyone, CDA will also offer a community dance program for those not able to follow the intense curriculum of the pre-professional program. Included in our mission is the education of CDA's students and the community of the contributions that African Americans have made to the classical and contemporary dance communities through performances, artwork, lectures, video and literature. CDA currently does not have a permanent home so classes are limited to various intensives and workshops. As we secure increased funding, scholarships will be made available to students based on talent and financial need.
