The Name:
What is the hidden secret behind the name of Ceased War?
In deeper thinking, it is a reflections of the world nowadays that filled with a lots of chaos, war and darkness. The world that we see today is not sugary sweet or colorful rainbows. The world that we see today is full with blinding walls and darkest hours. Stop living dead as a zombie, the time has come for all of us to be awake, be alive and fight for our freedom and peace in life. We come with a message of peace. We come with a message of unity.
Hence the name Ceased War.
History:
Ceased War was officially started in the early year of 2006. The amazing sound of Sepultura, Soulfly and Sodom truly inspire the Ceased War in creating their music and tunes. One of their early gigs that they played was The Tribute To Bob Marley gig at the Penang’s old school legendary happening gig places, The Church Street Café. This band is based originally from Penang and the majorities of the line-ups hails from Teluk Bahang, Penang.
When Ceased War rockin up the stage, you can feel the energy flowing and moving in.
This band’s musical concept is strongly influenced by Soulfly, Sepultura, Ektomorf, Inflames and Lamb of God. Ceased War is consists of 5 band members, Lop (vocalist/guitar), Matt Jepp (drum), Pak Din (1st guitar), Mie (bass) and Abun (percussions) , three of them hails from Telok Bahang, one from Sungai Bakap and one of them hails from Bukit Jambul. Mie from DNA Studio is Ceased War’s new bassist after their former bassist, Ben leave Malaysia to further his study in England.
Ceased War’s musical concept is Thrash Punk with a blend of tribal concept. Additionally, Ceased War core musical concept is strongly influenced by Sepultura, Sodom, Soulfly, Slayer, Machine Head, Pantera, Inflames and Ektomorth. The aggressive melodic and energetic sounds of Ceased War with a twist of pure soul has make Ceased War strongly garner the attentions of many underground music lovers around Malaysia. Ceased War has perform in many famous underground gigs such as Tribute to Bob Marley 2006, Switch Attack 2006, Metal O Maniac 2007, Loud and Clear 2008, The Uprising I 2008, Indiependent Fest 2008, Keen Bastards Tour 2009, Labour Fest II It’s a Hard Day’s Gig, Hardcore Take Over Endzweck 2009, Komma Tour 2009, Body Destruction 2009, Goggle Fest 2009, The Uprising II 2009 and Knock The North 2009.
