Formed in 2001 by César Delgado and Horacio Alippi, Ceasefire is defined as a Power Melodic Metal band with strong influences of the European metal.
At the beginning of January of 2001 they decided to begin a new project in which all their influences would combine perfectly. Leaving aside the band in which they were playing then, they faced this new project. The first summoned was Daniel Tkach (keyboards) who was a partner to Cesar at the high school. Due to his talent with the piano, Cesar decided to offer him this vacant place. Although Daniel didn't come from the metal scene, he accepted to play when knowing the musical proposal of the band. Then Andrés (bass) - who is Horacio's brother - joined the band. In the beginning, he occupied the second guitarist's place, but the band decided that they didn't need two guitars to reach the kind of sound they intended to achieve, so he changed the guitar for the bass, fact that made things easier. With that formation and some temporary drummers, they began to compose their first songs, but without achieving the wanted result. The last member that joined the band was Pablo (drums) who knew Horacio and Andrés from the underground metal places at South of Buenos Aires. This way, Ceasefire was finally complete, and so they worked on a defined musical style to which all the members of the band agreed. It was then when they recorded, in 2003, their first demo.
Line up for the demo 2003:
Horacio - Voice
César - Guitars
Andrés - Bass
Daniel - Keyboards
Pablo - Drums
The result of the demo defined the way Ceasefire make their compositions. They have many composed songs, also others are filed, that reflect the essence of the band. The musical style is largely influenced by the Finnish scene, starting with Sonata Arctica and Stratovarius as the main references, although after sometime other influences of diverse styles have been added. Nowadays, without coming off of the label of Power Melodic Metal, Ceasefire plays with different styles in its songs with the purpose of creating music in its wide sense, without taking care about breaking any rule that the styles may impose.
At the moment, in a state of uncertain inactivity, Ceasefire continues working as a study band, creating beautiful and heavy, warm and cold, dark or cheerful music, so much quick as slow, but over all things, putting their passion in each note
