"Brandon Hayslette, singer for Cease The White Horse, reminds fans between songs that the music is about faith and urges them to respect eachother. 'Don't hurt eachother,' Hayslette pleaded before launching into his band's final song at a Jan. 13 Bombshelter Community show. 'Please, no fighting.' The 16-year-old Hanover resident then paused and took a quick scan of the crowd. 'But go crazy,' he said.
'We play music to serve Jesus Christ,' Hayslette said. 'That is our main passion.' Hayslette understands that fans sometimes might not recognize Cease The White Horse as a Christian band. When he screams his band's message, the words are sometimes hard to comprehend. 'I understand that it can be definitely hard to understand (lyrics),' he said. 'I have that problem with some other bands.' But the Cease The White Horse name comes from the Book of Revelations. And Hayslette tells fans that he will be available after the show if anybody has an issue they need to talk about. Hayslette and other Christian rockers acknowledge they were drawn to the genre because of the positive message. And a quick look at Hayslette's lyrics - one song is about overcoming drug addiction, another is about struggling with a medical problem - shows the band's dedication to their faith. Although Christian hardcore is a genre that isn't very well known in the mainstream music world, some say the emerging Hanover scene is just another stage in the evolution of music. 'The music kept changing and now this is the modern change, too,' said Cease The White Horse bass player Phil Wilmot. 'We feel that God should be involved in every area of music, every genre.'"
