About me: Dear Friends
The Cecil County Guardians are a non-profit organization that aide in getting underprivileged children in our county a Christmas they normally wouldn’t have. Also, we have taken on the duties of helping families clothe their children when they can’t find the means to provide for them. We have been called upon to help when homes have burned down. One of the commissioners of Elkton contacted us to provide for the many families being shipped into North East from Louisiana.
These services by us have been made possible, due to the various sponsors we’ve acquired, and through the many good hearted people who have donated new and used clothing (in mint condition).
On October 3, 2004 we had our first toy run. We had only anticipated between 200 and 300 bikers. To our surprise, we ended up with nearly 700 bikers. The toy run was a success, and only planned within four months!
Due to the many bikers that arrived and the amount of people who came by cars, or on foot we were able to call in four churches, Shore Haven School and sponsor 7 families (15 children) on our own.
Since then, The Cecil County Guardians have held an annual toy run on the first Saturday in October at the Fair Hill Race Track. 2007’s toy run will be on October 6th and 2008’s will be on October 4th. We hope everyone will come out and support our kids.
