Music Director and radio program-producing monster for KRVS (88.7 FM or www.krvs.org), Public Radio for the Lafayette - Lake Charles, Louisiana area. Radio Birdman surfing on a cone of uncertainty. On a daily basis, doing a little something toward putting the "Broad" back into Broadcasting for Southwest Louisiana (and I do not reference outdated vernacular here). On a weekly basis, on the air with The MEDICINE BALL CARAVAN (weekday morning eclectic); JAH MON (weekly Reggae showcase); EARTHBEAT (World Music program) and SOUNDS UNUSUAL (self-explanatory), AFTERNOON CLASSICS (Classical music) and various unannounced substitute hosting, air filling or engineering chores (when needed) like hosting the station's annual 4-day broadcast of Festival International de Louisiane. Have produced other programs through the years that have gone by the wayside including GRANT STREET SATURDAY NITE (hosted weekly live broadcasts from the Lafayette niteclub), THE 99TH FLOOR (weekly hour-long sound collage) and WHOOPY SNORP: The Residents Hour (program dedicated to the immortal cult group). Briefly a musician: Beginning in 1971 with the Mamou-based rock group, DARK (on and off between the years of 1971-1978); MADISON FOG (1974); THE MOVIE STARS (1978-79) and guest spotting a vocal set with the popular Lafayette area band BAS CLAS (1980-86 getting up to perform the "Mamou Medley" and causing general rock'n roll mayhem every single Monday for some 5 years). Former bassist for pioneering Louisiana punk outfit from the early 1980's, TOXIN III (1980-83). Former editor and writer for mid-to-late Eighties cheapie Weirdfilm fanzines, SUBHUMAN (1986-1990) and FLOATING TURD (1983). Other than being proud to have helped bring into this world two lovely and wonderful children (Dexter in 1990 / Samantha in 1995) and managing to steer clear of the unimaginative realm of Corporate Commercial Radio; I've lead a relatively 'Slackfull' existence where there always tends to be a sufficient amount of Love and Support around to keep me sustained, happy and thankful.
