Cecile Corbel - live performance - 2007 tour in Brittany
"Once upon a time were a gypsy with golden lips, a knight-errant, a woman in love with a dolphin, a ocean of milk, deers in garments of fog, another knight, wounded and mourned by a maiden in an orchard, a talking horse, a female pirate, a damned girl on the moor… Once upon a time was innocence.
This album is the fruit of many years spent on the roads with my harp. On stage or in a studio, Breton legends, Irish fairies, Scottish fogs, they all were my fellow travelers and a boundless source of inspiration…
I hope you will like this album as much as I enjoyed writing and recording these songs.

"The new princess of Celtic harp"
-review in "Muska" magazine march/April 2008 Slovenia
“Corbel belongs to this new generation of European folkies, - In the sense that she is happy to take crusty old folk standards and reinvent them for the 21st-century audience”.
- Sydney morning Herald – February 2007
"C.C. mirrors her singing, limpid, fragile, but confident. She draws her inspiration from the Breton tradition, from Breton laments and magic tales". -
Liberation – dec 14 2006
"Cecile is a citizen of the world, and her voice flows as she tells about exile, rough seas, lovers parted by life, migrations".....
"Cécile draws her inspiration from traditional melodies she renews with hints of « pop » and folk music (...) She sings with an exquisite grace"
- World MD
"Cécile Corbel sings like a nightingale"
Liberation – nov 18 2006
"She imposes an enchanting universe with a clever mix of traditional Irish songs and Breton tunes".
20 minutes – nov 2. 2006
"Sometimes an artist comes along with such a terrific style that they not only bring new life to a tradition and a new way of hearing or looking but leave an indelible mark that is deeper than the superficially skilled.
- Celtic beat review – dec 2007

A bientôt ! Gadjo
To love someone Is to love that one To be with that someone You love... To take care of them To forgive them for what they did To be with that someone You love... To believe in their dreams As you believe in yours And that one you can always cherish This one you love Forget about control Forget about silence Remember and try not to change What could not be changed To love someone Is to be loved by someone Understanding and believing Are the reasons why You love... Time passes by so swiftly We forget what gets us by So to love someone Is a day to live by... A simple lesson in life This one we can learn today Just remember that loved one You may have let get away We are not individuals Though we think we live this way But that someone we always loved May have got away this day
To love someone...my oh my How that can get away? And how that someone May have made your day... To love someone Lies within one’s grasp And this loved one Believe me...will give you all Much more than you can ask To love someone May seem to be a simple thing So why not love that someone? Isn’t that something? To love someone May be sometimes hard to do But they always for some reason Love you back too Isn’t there something inside you That has you wanting and needing Something right in your life? And that’s to love someone? Yes, it may be sometimes hard to do But for whatever reasons They always love you back too...
