Pianist/composer Cedric Hanriot has just come out of the studio having recorded
his latest project "French Stories" with such luminaries as Terri Lyne Carrington and
John Patitucci.
The innovative "French Stories" project features originals alongside well known
French songs from artists like Jacques Brel, Serge Gainsbourg, or Edith
Piaf. Cedric has taken these songs and turned them into more contemporary
styles such as Jazz, Groove and Afro.
With the new release of "French Stories"
scheduled for worldwide release January 2010, Cedric will be performing in a trio
format of Piano/Fender Rhodes/Laptop, Bass, and Drums/Percussion. With such
heavyweight sidemen alongside his obvious prodigious talents, Cedric Hanriot is
one of the hottest French jazz pianist's on the scene today, and his French Stories
are sure to blow you away!

Fulbright recipient, French pianist pianist, composer, and arranger Cedric HANRIOT has performed and recorded with
luminaries such as drummer Terri Lyne CARRINGTON (Stevie WONDER, Herbie HANCOCK), bass player John
PATITUCCI (STING, Wayne SHORTER), bass player/singer Me’shell NDEGEOCELLO, drummer Cindy
BLACKMAN (Lenny KRAVITZ), saxophonist Joe LOVANO, Grammy Awards winning singer DeeDee
BRIDGEWATER, singer Siedah GARRETT (Michael JACKSON), Felicia COLLINS (MADONNA), Nona
HENDRYX, and Joyce KENNEDY.
M. Hanriot would generally be considered a latecomer to the world of music. After earning his Master’s Degree in
Electronics & Digital Audio Processing at the age of 21, his life took an unexpected turn as he sat at the piano for the
first time in his life. From this point on, he has devoted most of his waking hours to music, surrendering to his
overwhelming love for music and jazz.
Cedric HANRIOT has appeared at many prestigious performance venues worldwide including The Iridium New York,
the Shanghai Jazz Festival (China), the Tanglewood Jazz Festival (US) and the Jazz a Vienne Festival (F). Mr
HANRIOT has also appeared at la Defense Jazz Festival Paris (F), Transe-Atlantique Festival (Morrocco), at the famous
NPR radio Talk Show “Says you” and the Nicaragua Jazz Festival.
Besides a Fulbright grant, HANRIOT has won major composition and solo prizes throughout Europe including the Jazz
at St Germain Festival, International Jazz Soloist Contest in Monaco and Enghien les Bains Festival. He has won the
prestigious French-American Arthur King Peters Memorial Grant, the Mary Jane Earnhart Ellison Endowed
Scholarship and scholarships to Berklee College of Music, Boston .
Cedric HANRIOT has studied with world-class artists such as Danilo PEREZ, Greg OSBY, Jean Michel PILC, Joe
LOVANO, Hal CROOK.
Mr HANRIOT holds a Masters Degree in Electronic Engineering and Audio Signal Processing from the University of
Nancy, France and a Degree in Professional Music from Berklee College of Music, Boston.
Current projects include his acoustic project called 'Cedric Hanriot French Stories' whose CD to be released in 2010 and
featuring Terri Lyne CARRINGTON and John PATITUCCI. The acoustic project recently toured Europe, Nicaragua,
the US and China. 'Cedric Hanriot French Stories' plays Cedric ‘s original compositions as well as well-known French Folk
Songs (Chanson Francaise, Brel, Ferre, Gainsbourg, Aznavour, Piaf) in a Jazz and contemporary style through the use of
contemporary grooves such as groove, jazz, world and hip-hop.
Cedric is also currently working frogNstein, an electro-groove-jazz project led by Mr HANRIOT (compositions, sound
programming, piano and keyboards) and Bertrand BERUARD (bass and compositions). frogNstein released their first
album, 'Electrify My Soul' in 2007 on Cristal Records. frogNstein are now working towards the release of their second
album. In addition, frogNstein is creating their own 'music with video' experience for their audiences.
In addition to his own projects, Cedric has collaborated with many other leading artists on piano, B3 Hammond Organ,
keys, melodica and accordion. He has also composed, arranged, produced and sound designed for an array of musical
styles such as Electro, Pop, RNB, Hip Hop, Blues, Jazz, Latin, World music, music for Video games/Jingles/Ads and
capacities.
Mr HANRIOT is an active educator and has given many workshops in Europe and Asia. Since 2003, he has enjoyed
sharing his musical gifts through teaching at the Music Academy International (partner/BIN school of Berklee) in France.
