Ceide was formed in 1999 by a group of musicians who played regular sessions together in Matt Molloys pub in Westport. The group has gone on to produce 2 critically acclaimed albums and perform all over Ireland, England, Scotland, France, Austria, Italy and America. Their debut Cd "Like a Wild Thing" was released to in 2001. "Out of their Shell" followed in 2006 with the introduction of Marianne Knight as vocalist and Seamie O'Dowd as producer. Geoff Wallis writing in Irish Music Review described it best when he said 'In conclusion, Out of Their Shell is the most striking album to be released by an Irish traditional band for some years and absolutely worth investigation' .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ..
