About me: TAROT HISTORY: The Roman Catholic Church condemned the use of the Tarot and cited it as a tool of the Devil and proclaimed the Tarot to be "the Devil's Bible" or "the Devil's Picture Book."
" History warns us...that it is the customary fate of new truths to begin as heresies and to end as superstitions."
~Thomas Henry Huxley
UPDATED in the skies for this week!
" Belief most certainly plays a very big role in all of our lives. In a way it connects all people, because at the end of the day, we all have to believe in something, or what's the point? I think James Truslow Adams summed it up quite nicely when he said, 'Be not afraid of life. Believe that life is worth living and your belief will help create the fact,' That quote, in a nutshell, shows all of us the power of belief." ~Trevor Kugler
Friends in life, Sisters (and Brothers) Forever. "Warlocks are said to be the male equivalent of witches, and were said to ride pitchforks instead of broomsticks which normally witches would ride."
The Triple Goddess is served by her consort, The Horned God, he is Lord of the Sabbat and of the Underworld. He was driven underground by the spread of Christianity.
Sabbat is a form of "sabbath". The witches' sabbath was a popular "superstition" in medieval times, when it was believed that witches and warlocks would gather to worship the devil in a perversion of the Mass. Satan, who was usually present in the form of a cat, a toad, a goat or goat-footed man, would rule over the sabbat. The witches were said to travel to mountaintops, ruined temples, or other remote locations on broomsticks or animal companions, even as shapeshifters in the guise of animals to attend. Many described attending sabbats in person or in 'spirit' through the use of "flying ointments."
