Bio
Ian Hanley – Vocals Ben Carmine – Guitar Craig Campbell – Drums Dave Locke – Bass Cellar Door is a Portland based alternative rock band originally formed by college roommates Hanley and Carmine. The two collaborated for years writing music, gigging throughout the Eugene and Portland area, with several musicians before joining up with current drummer, Campbell, and bassist, Locke. The foundation of the music starts with Carmine's melodic guitar work and unique chord selection. Carmine writes ultra-catchy progressions that are kept simplistic, allowing the other band members to be creative. Campbell, an old school speed-metal drummer, applies interesting off-beats and powerful grooves, who connects with talented bassist Locke to form a solid rhythm section. Hanley is a gifted front man has a wide vocal range. He can sing or scream as inspired by the music, and his theatrical background translates directly to his on-stage performance. Cellar Door's music is versatile and dynamic, often bridging from hypnotic melodies to powerful crescendos. No two songs are alike, but each one is distinctly Cellar Door. Some of Cellar Door's influences are: Pearl Jam, QOTSA, Modest Mouse, Pixies, Tool, RHCP, Led Zeppelin, Dream Theatre, Alice In Chains, and The Doors. CD Releases: The Way Out (2005), Shelfed (2008), Viral (2011) Cellar Door released its latest EP, VIRAL, August 2011. This dark, yet hopeful compilation shows the versatility of the band. The songs: Return, Yell at Myself and All In reflect the band's newest rock style, while songs: Seven and Broken Corner reveal their softer alter ego. VIRAL was written and recorded at Ending Studios in Portland, Oregon. Upcoming Shows: 12/01/11 Dante's DRD records semifinals Email: cellardoorbooking@gmail.com Video Link: http://vimeo.com/27691793 -
