Cellarhigh are not 'normal'. They don't look it and they certainly don't sound it. Formed out of a student basement binges and jams, the band gained immediate success with support slots for the Kaiser Chiefs, Chikinki and The Koreans before continuing to rise by supporting Louis XIV, SoundExplosion, Blackbud, The Mardous, Big Strides and more, not to mention packed gigs at The Leadmill, Stuff't Olives, the famous Fuzz Club and Tuesday Club stages, open air festivals, all with recognisable airplay and an acoustic set at Glastonbury to boot. Combining a massive wide of influences from indie, rock, funk and dance music with songs about how Sheffield's gone mad since the monkeys made it, the catalogue cuture and tv dynamic, they write about what's around them, which worringly includes some rather strange hallucinations. After spending time finding their sound and venturing out of the steel city, the band opened 2007 with the release of their 'As Seen on Tv' EP - an assault on cliques, ignorance and the daily stupor. Looking to push the boundaries of what's not normal even further with energetic live performances and a desire to rock out and dance, the band intended to hit the ground running. Having already picked up enthusiastic nods from BBC Raw Talent, labels, critics and fans alike, the future looks pretty good...

Thought we'd just let you know we've recently put up a buch of tracks from our forthcoming album. Have you heard them? Please let us know what you think!
And if you like them come check us live. We're playing all over the country. The tour dates are up on our page.
Just thought I'd let you know about a gig we're doing which might (sniff) be our last. For a number of reasons we're calling it a day after October, at least for a while.
So this is going to be pretty special.
We've got the big Live Room at Plug in Sheffield for the night, and pressganged almost everybody who has ever played with us over the years to join us for an Uber-Gig of Justice.
We're playing from 8 till 10:30 with a bit of a break in the middle. Then we've got the Earth Bar for more dancing and a nice chilled out after-party till 3.
It's £6 in advance from Plug Box Office on rockingham Gate (tel 0114 2413040), Jack's Records on Division Street and online at http://www.the-plug.com/tickets. And this one’s open to anyone over 14 too!
We're going to blast through into a better, oranger dimension. Please join us.
Les Sons du Nord returns to the UK! An exchange programme of sorts between Northern France, Belgium and Sheffield established since 2006. The event takes over the excellent Shakespeare pub, Gibraltar Street, Sheffield, from the 28th - 30th August. Expect top bands, amazing sausages and nice booze. Sheffield is represented by Nat Johnson, Champion Kickboxer, the Yell, Yo-Yo Static and Rotary Ten whilst Curry & Coco, Frank Shinobi, Soy un Cabalo and the Appleseeds cross the channel.
We would like to let you know that our website, Myspace and Facebook page has BRAND NEW MATERIAL available to preview. Updates include tracks from our forth-coming album and promotional video. Please click on http://www.the-gentlemen.co.uk/comingsoon.php/ and follow the links to Myspace/Facebook.
As we are spending a lot of time in the studio at this moment, as well as recording a brand new music video, we are performing very few dates this summer. However, hopefully amongst the dates listed on Myspace & Facebook (including various European bookings), there will be ample opportunity to catch a show in the very near future before our release and official UK tour.
In the mean time, we are returning home to Sheffield for ’An Evening With The Gentlemen’ to showcase brand new tracks from the forth-coming album and exciting new stage show.
