-Founder, front man and rhythm guitarist Dave Dalton moved Cell Block 5 from San Francisco to Orange County. Dave has been assaulting ears for years with such bands as Screaming Bloody Marys, and a brief stint with Johnny Thunders.
-On bass guitar is MIKE of White Trash Debutanates, Lunatics on Parole, and HIRAX.
-On Lead Guitar is Roland, of Saddams Angels, and DH Peligro .
-Rounding out the group on drums is hard hitter JARED of SADDAM'S ANGELS, SIDEKICK, and The PUT ONS.
With a full-on two-guitar punch, memorable hooks and testosterone-fueled dirty punk sound, Cell Block 5 doesn’t disappoint. Cell Block 5 recorded their first album, King of Crowns in September 1999. Mastered by East Bay Ray of the infamous Dead Kennedy's and released by Industrial Strength Records of Richmond, California. “King of Crowns is classic old school 77’ punk rawk with fun, hard driving songs such as Nitey Nite, RKL, and Hot Damm,” says Mike Molinda of Guitar Player Magazine. In September 2000, Cell Block 5 released its second CD, Push It, also on Industrial Strength Records. Produced by East Bay Ray, Push It features tracks by He Who Cannot Be Named of the Dwarves, Criss Freeman of Pansy Division, and East Bay Ray lays down an unforgettable solo on Iggy Pop’s Repo Man reminiscent of his days with Dead Kennedys. Scooter Boy, Spy Vs Spy and Two Fist are definite standouts. Fall of 2002 brings Cell Block 5’s latest offering What’s It All About?, a split CD with White Trash Debutantes On Orange Peal Records. What’s it All About? is a clear demonstration of how Cell Block 5 has evolved into a full frontal assault with slamming hooks and rockin’ vocals. “This War” and “Johnny” are songs you don’t want to miss.
