Influences
LIFE and growing up in the mean streets of A-town. Musically? .. God damn i love so many diff types and it all has influenced me. Early on it would be : Sugar Hill, Run DMC, Slick Rick, Beasties, NWA, Eminem, Billy Corgan, 2 Live Crew, Ill Media, Psychokinetics, Freestyle Fellowship, Hiero, Nas, Wu, Gangstarr, El-P, Tribe, De La, Outkast, etc etc .. Anything that's heartfelt with good drums and basslines. The list grows. I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
Sounds Like
Real talk, playa ;) Our sound has been compared to Outkast, Common, Freestyle Fellowship and Styles of Beyond. Over-all, just some unique bangery that shoots out of my cakehole ;) Here is my latest video, "Bleedin" , taken from my free Mixtape, "Things You Might Not Heard." Get it ! AND HERE IS THE LEAD VIDEO FOR MY SOLO ALBUM "WANDERLUST" RIGHT HERE!
Celsius 7, half of the popular Bay Area hip hop group "Psychokinetics" is on his own and has recently released his debut solo album, "Wanderlust.” By crafting intelligent and heartfelt rhymes backed by the bangin’ beats of some of the world’s best indie producers (Headnodic, Dirt Nasty, Mophono, Dj Uppercut, The Friendly Traveler, Denizen, iLL media), Celsius 7 has created a beautifully balanced album that walks the fine line between underground and accessible. ******
By blending the hilarious pet-peeve reference song “Manners” with the club friendly anthems “Bleedin” and "Gitchoudere" along with political and introspective tracks like “Magic Bullet” and “Cells”, Celsius 7 will garner a larger following throughout the hip hop community and beyond. “Wanderlust” never lets up for a moment with the intense storytelling of “Portraits” and the soulful strut of “Livin’ 4 U”, which rounds out this truly diverse and distinct album.******
Oh, and did I mention the title track "Wanderlust" ? Van Damn! ******
Celsius 7 delivers in the studio, but as anyone who’s seen him live knows, he’s an energetic, engaging, and infectious performer on stage. These qualities have helped Celsius 7 and Psychokinetics build a strong fan base from Asia to Europe to Hawaii, and of course all the way back to the scenic Bay, where they’ve shared the stage with such hip-hop luminaries as KRS-One, Too Short, Biz Markee, Mickey Avalon, Dirt Nasty, DJ Premier, Black Sheep, Digital Underground, Kool Keith, and more.*****
Celsius 7 is an experienced performer that has been on stage over 500 times, all throughout the U.S. as well as stints in Europe and parts of Asia, including Japan. His comfort and love for the art is evident with every show, as the crowd is always left wanting more.*****
Witness why Celsius 7's writings have earned him a John Lennon Songwriting Award and also runner-up in the Independent Music Awards. A hip hop fan since ’79, Celsius 7 is true to the art and culture, and still believes in the power that the music holds to meaningfully captivate and inspire. In a world full of imitators and soul-less radio, Celsius 7 is a the breath of fresh air Hip-hop truly needs.*****
Watch out for this breakthrough artist as he tours extensively in support of his album. Celsius 7 is an artist on the rise and it is only a matter of time before the world knows it.
