It all started years and years ago, when we all discovered the delights of celtic music in our separate ways. Andy started out playing in Germany before he even moved here, the rest of us here in Canada. We met each other in sessions, (remember that famous one at Sherlock Holme's on Thursday nights?) heard each others bands, (Sheela na Gigh, Uisce Scona, Scona Brae, Jolly Beggars, Murphy's Law, Fair Billy, and others I can't remember).
Tami got a call one day to put a band in a wedding and decided right then to put together her dream team band. So we got together, changed our name about 18 times and finally settled on Darkwood for about 3 years. We played quite a bit with that name, had lots of fun and even started recording our Cd and realized finally that we shared the name with someone else with a prior claim.
Welcome to Celtara! After months of baby books, debates and web searches we've rechristened ourselves Celtara and it's ours all ours!
We'll see you at partys, pubs, festivals, tea houses, house concerts, boats and theatres. You'll hear us here and on fine radio. You can buy our Cd at Blackbyrd Myoosic, at the Gramaphone or through us.
Hi Celtara. EletriKa sounds completely different from any Metal band you have ever heard. The Brazilian rhythms and the Portuguese language added to the songs make its style unique, giving birth to a new kind of Metal. If you are really looking for something new about Metal, you should check EletriKa out! Thanks a lot for the attention and support. Keep in touch.

I am going to tell you a story. It was written by Cervantes, our spanish famous writer, author of "The Quixote". It's a poem which tells about a girl, always under her mother's eye, guarded by her mother's fears. This girl claims that she must be her own guard, no matter the guards she has around. I composed a song based on this poem and included in the song are some "fragments" of spanish popular music. My intention is to evoke the image of the girl looking through the window with sorrow and listening to the street musiciens walking along. The title of the song is "COPLAS DE MARIALONSO" and it is displayed on my page. I invite you to have a listening...Amparo García-Otero. Singer and songwriter. Spain.
