Scotland's Heather Innes and Ireland's Jacynth Hamill sing together as 'Caim a capella Celtic Christian Duo'. The duo was born in 1998 when Heather invited Jacynth to sing with her and to research and arrange most of the music for their first album, 'Caim, Sung Prayers in the Celtic Tradition', based on the published prayers in the Celtic Tradition of Rev David Adam, former vicar of Lindisfarne. Caim concerts feature a mix of sung prayers with traditional Scottish and Irish songs, stories and dance.
Heather tours extensively with duo Heather Innes and Ciaran Dorris, as a solo singer, and with 'Caim'. The British Isles, Ireland, mainland Europe, Australia, and North America (both Canada and the USA) feature regularly in her (and Caim's) performing itinerary. She has several excellent solo recordings to her credit as well as recordings with her other bands.
Jacynth currently lives in Belfast. She has always been involved in singing, featuring as soloist on several Corrymeela Singers' recordings and on their British, Irish and European tours. In addition to her folk-music interest, Jacynth is an active member of Ceol le C..ile, a cross-community choir.
All of the Caim CDs have instrumental backing but 'live' Jacynth and Heather sing a capella and in harmony for a pure Celtic sound.
With music ranging from the lively to the meditative, Caim aims to bring the depth and simplicity of Celtic Christian music to a wide audience.

Poem 162 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (please see my blog): TEES TO TYNE: FIRST IMPRESSIONS - SUMMER 2001
Where traditions are not so rare; Sea, country and works scent the air; A multitude of monuments, Planted tubs and patterned pavements.
The longish pedestrian malls; The remnants of defensive walls; Historic buildings are a gauge Of the respect for heritage.
Wheat, rape and pines in the fields; Estuaries guarded by shields; Long sandy beaches and wide scenes; Romantic-ruin go-betweens.
Rivers in parts licked by trees, Or fringed by boat clubs, wharfs, gantries, And crossed by practical delights - Varied spans, forming pleasing sights.
Fine churches headed at Durham; Football kits ad infinitum; Kept castles - one for study; Masonry behind masonry.
And, with moulding-works out that way, It’s somewhere for a longer stay..?
New From Jared Anderson, one of today's top CCLI songwriters, comes his first LIVE worship album, Live From My Church. Recorded at New Life Church in Colorado Springs. Jared leads an amazing night of worship introducing ten new songs as well as a LIVE version of his radio single "Glorified" and a new recording of John Mark McMillan's "O How He Loves." The song "Carrier" has become the theme song of a major mission organization and tour promotion will be built around the theme of Jared leading worship "live from your church."
If you have a band and would like to work in western central Massachusetts, I may be able to help book you. I started NC Booking back in '89 when I was booking a few bands from Scotland and Ireland. Now, 20 years later, I'm still booking great roots music acts. To find out more, visit http://northamptoncommunity.ning.com where you can REGISTER. Thanks!

Poem 2 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (please see my blog): WALKABOUT WITH MY PEN
Once drove an old sedan, up north, From a place in Sydney to Cairns; Then to Kuranda I went forth, By train, to look without set plans.
I browsed through the trendy market, With fresh fruits of tropical kind; Walked to the creek through lush thicket - Nature’s hand giving peace of mind.
I dined in a scenic cafe; Then, outside, as I wrote for yen, Some passing Kooris called-out: “Hey, You go walkabout with your pen.”
Request or question, I don’t know - Assured voices, elderly men. That’s now several years ago, And I’ve seen the world - with my pen.
