Celtic Confusion are a Dorset based Irish band, formed by fiddler Gill Collins and guitarist John Reeks. Gill, also plays with, Murphy's Lore, and dep's for a few other bands including Agglestone. John also plays with Scottish dance band Swing Your Partner, and occasionaly with Agglestone and used to play with Blandford based band the Waifs and Strays. He is also working on another project which is a Klezmer based band.
The two having met and played at various Irish music sessions across the South of England, set themselves the task of seeking out other like minded individuals in the area to take their love of music to the masses.
Originally Gill named the band "Tripping Upstairs" after the name of a jig that her and John regularly played at the Coventry Arms pub in Corfe Mullen, however she soon fell out of love with the name when they found themselves playing the tune everywhere they went.
Eventually they recruited multi instrumentalist, vocalist and general tall person, Clive Jennings, who is well known in the Dorset area for his singing and playing with various bands and accordionist, Mike McDaid who is known for his playing around the Irish sessions and as a founder member of The Treefellahs, and the organisation of the Wessex Folk Festival. The next job on thier list is getting a CD sortted for the summer of 2010. I created my own myspace layout using nUCLEArcENTURy.COM and you should too!
