Biography

Celtic Dance was formed in the freezing Jan. ’94 by Laldaboath (Guitar), Tzaboath (Bass), Andras (Drums) (replaced few time later by Nygurien aka Xeque Mate) & Eloah Va-Daath aka Conqueror (Vocals) both members departed from different project bands namely: Dark Prophecy, Christ Tears & Occult Baptism, Firstborn Evil, just in case you’ve heard...
Since the beginning this band went though hardship that prevented them from recording anything else than a reh. Track “In the cold lands...” for a compilation tape professionally released by Black Legions Prod. For more than one year.
Anyway previous releases includes a demo “Goddess of a thousand knights” back in ’95 (which was recorded with a long time friend, on drums, who by joining Celtic Dance at that period of time completed what used to be the original line-up of Dark Prophecy back in ’91), followed by a small 3 dates tour along with the Flemish lions Ancient rites, provoking total misanthropy during the first days of Feb. ’96 in Lusitanian lands. A few weeks later after that ‘tour’ the band entered R.E.F. studios to record professionally the song “In the Cold Lands...” for a compilation “Southern Assault Vol. I”, this time on CD format along with other 12 Portuguese dark bands.... to promote this release summoned for the 2nd time to open for a foreign band, this time for Blazemth from Catalunya/Spain, along with some bands from that compilation, which ended as the festival title, “Southern Assault”. Meanwhile, the band signed a CD contract with the Dutch label Shivadarshana Rec., in late ’96, which was recorded in July ’97 under the title “Ancient Battlecry” on the R.E.F. studios once again. Due to problems between the band & the label itself the album was never released & the contract cancelled, leading to one of the biggest rip-off’s in the history of the band... with the label refusing to return the master tape & all the cover artwork, when all was paid by the band himself.
In ’98 the mentioned album was released by vocalist’s label ‘Sword prod.’ & Laldaboath & Tzaboath own label 'Satanhades Prod' on 2 different editions, since a copy of it was retained by the band, receiving quite good critics everywhere. In ’99 with a completely new line-up the band started to work on new stuff which was even more brutal, technique, melodic & epic than before, not forgetting the roots & Celtic Dance own identity, still nothing was far due to the lack of time of the members involved & other personal reasons...!!!

The band was dead for many but secretly it was only resting until 2001... Beware for with a new grand line-up Celtic Dance its finally back with full power & mighty devotion for the Pagan triumph!!! Some warriors have come & go so to make it shorter the actual line-up on 2003/2004 was: Conqueror (Vocals), Sarg (Bass), Daemonium (Guitar), The Reaper (Guitar) & Rolando (Drums).

After near 5 years in deep sleep the future shines bright for these souls... With the not very old recording of “Regressus Ad Uterum” (Return to the roots) & the followed release of it as split CD with WOLFTHRONE from Spain the band seems that have reached the status of professionalism that was along ago persecuted among the Portuguese Underground.... During the recording of the mentioned work The Reaper moved to Netherlands which finished with his only contribute on the recording as a marvellous single Guitar solo…Let’s face FUTURE & remember the PAST… for only our blood is worth to be spoiled by our roots…

2006/2007

Also Daemonium moved to The Netherlands & later on to the UK, so once again the band was put on ice since all the once stable line-up separated for various reasons, at least this time was quite short since new factors were able to rejoin some important pieces about the future of the band, mainly the return of an old member Xeque-Mate 'Nygurien' to the guitar (once former drummer of the band), later on Leanan Sidhe (Bass) & lately a new drummer was found: Voidwalker, after the departure of Zy due to lack of time & other personal reasons of his own!
