We started our career as the ultimate Pogues tribute band, but we grew out of that, and into our own sound. It would be hard to name all the influences running through this band. Everybody brings their own ideas to the table, and nobody has the last word.
Neye Benziyor?
In the end, what we put into our music might not be what you get out of it- so you make the call on who we sound like. On any given night, you might hear The Clash meets Johnny Cash, or Bob Marley meets Bob Dylan; you might hear a centuries old Celtic melody over a drum part that would make Keith Moon proud. We don't break the rules- we don't even acknowledge them.
The Lash is an indie band in the purest sense of the concept. We don't have a publicist. What you see is what we are. We pay for our own records, and therefore, we do whatever we want. We aren't in anybody's pocket. We don't have roadies, so don't be afraid to ask if we need help loading out. We do. If you want to get to know us better, buy one of our records, or visit our web site, or talk to us at a show.
THIS JUST IN: Celtic Mayhem Live, The Lash's long out-of-print debut album, is now available from eFolkMusic.org!!
Hey, guys, just letting you know that we are doing the show with Kim Simmonds and Savoy Brown in Jackson at the Michigan Theatre on Oct. 10th (StarTickets) Hope you can make it! We'll be debuting our new album at the show, as well as a few cuts from our "Perspectives" CD. We fully intend to ROCK the joint! Bob Lyon - Moss Agate
Hey hey hey! I'll be at Mort's on the 16th but on the 2nd, you guys should all come to The Claddagh to see The Kreellers! They're from Detroit and they are bad ass! Hope you all can make it!
Ever wondered what to do in the event of a nuclear threat?
A while ago I found stuff that inspired me to make this film:
Living Under the Shadow of the Nuclear Umbrella
Both artistic (ensure you get the background music!) and educational, it primarily comprises official British government civil defence advice.
Though source materials are quite aged, much remains relevant today.

Hey guys! I wish I could make it out to Saugatuck tonight, but I'm going to Ann Arbor. Have a great show and watch out for ghosts! Remember the building is supposedly haunted!
Caught you guys at both the Green Door and Mort's last week -- fah-bulous as always. Keep the faith.
And puhlease tell me you did not let the drunk with the harp anywhere near the stage Saturday night ... ugh. I kept expecting him to chant "Free Bird" . I think he was looking for the buxom blode with the Peg Bunday hair from the Door.
Good to have you as a friend! So great to see the internet in action this way, shortening distances between people.

I will do that! I remember you saying you had played with them before and was already planning on mentioning that to them! I'll see you Saturday night after Black 47! Save all my favorite songs!
I'll definitely pass it on, but Black 47 is playing over at The Intersection that night and pretty much everyone from the Irish scene, myself included, is going to that show and it starts at 9pm. I'll for sure head up to The Black Rose after word though, as most intersection shows are done by 11:30 or so. I think they only have one opening act so it shouldn't go to late! And I'll try to bring a few people with me!
It's Official! I'll be playing one Michigan show at the Riversbend in Eaton Rapids on the 23rd of January at 9:30 PM. Hope you can make it out. It's sure to be a blast!!
