Celtic Music Society is a unique folk music program and ensemble comprised of student musicians from East Rochester Junior and Senior High Schools. Founded in the fall of 2001, this group of young musicians performs the traditional music of Ireland and other Celtic regions. Celtic Music Society provides an authentic experience in Irish music, and a typical meeting doesnt look much different from a traditional Irish music session. When first beginning on the traditional instrument, students are trained in the style and traditions of Irish music, and they collectively become a self-sustaining musical group. While we do perform regularly, the focus in Celtic Music Society, as in folk music traditions, is on the process and experience of making music together rather than the preparation for performance.

Hi there Celtic Music Society first of all we'd like to say thanks for being our myspace pal. We wanted to make sure you knew the reason incase we suddenly vanish off of your friends list. The movement we've started for indie artists has grown significantly and consumes all of our time these days. We seldom sign into our myspace account and this is making several people believe that we are ignoring them. We are not ignoring anyone, we wanted everyone to know that. What we're doing has become so busy we just don't have the time for myspace any longer, so in all honesty we are probably going to just close our myspace account.
